What is the material like?

Heat-resistant mixtures have differences in their structure. Their main task is to confront the action of high temperatures. In addition, they perfectly protect the surface from the action of steam, cold and hot water, temperature difference, prevents corrosion of metal parts.

Note! The level of protection and the exact scope of application depend on the composition of the paint and the percentage of various additives.

It is possible to use colors correctly and efficiently, only knowing their composition, properties and differences. In general, they are a lacquer based suspension with the addition of special mixtures. As they dry up, a film is formed on the surface to protect it. Just like simple paints, heat-resistant make the surface more aesthetic and bright, not only fulfilling its main function, but also fully meeting the requirements of aesthetics, which are required for paintwork materials.

Getting Ready for Operation

Heat resistant paints are used to protect structures that are exposed to high temperatures, up to 600 degrees. They also protect against the aggressive effects of oils, salt solutions, wandering currents and petroleum products. Often this type of paint is used, like paint for the stove, due to its qualities.

Before applying the paint, the surface must be free of dust and dirt, degreased and dry. If the coating that was applied earlier is still strong, with a breakdown of not more than 20%, then partial treatment is used. In places where there is no coverage and around 15-30 centimeters, a cleaning operation is carried out. Before use, the liquid is well mixed and if necessary diluted with xylene or a solvent.

Apply the mixture at any temperature, but the surface should be dry, free of moisture or frost. Depending on the temperature, the paint dries from 30 minutes to three hours. Full drying occurs when heated to a temperature of 150 degrees.

Note! In the case of pneumatic spraying, one approach should be 15-17 seconds.

The brick oven varnish should form a coating of 40-80 μm in thickness for use at high temperatures. If the first layer is too thin, then another one, 40 μm in thickness, is applied.

Furnace and fireplace painting technology

If you are painting a stove or fireplace, the paint is applied in 2-3 layers. Each new layer - only after the previous one has dried. To get a good color( without streaks and flaws), each layer should be as thin as possible. Seams between the masonry are usually painted in light colors. If the fireplace or stove is made of poor quality material, and the masonry is careless, then the whole surface is plastered with lime-clay or calc-gypsum mortar.

The preparatory process is as follows:

  • A thorough cleaning is carried out, if necessary, the old plaster is removed;
  • The seams of 10 millimeters are deepened;
  • The oven is heated so that the temperature is average;
  • The surface is wetted with water, and plaster is applied in several layers.

Important! The total layer of all plaster should not exceed 10 millimeters.

  • The surface is leveled and peeled;
  • After drying the solution, it is cleaned.

After that, the fireplace is ready for painting. The paint is mixed and applied to the surface. The decoration of the Russian oven can be done in a rural style and painted it. Paint for painting is done like this: a liter jar of gouache is poured and one egg protein is added. All this is mixed long and carefully.
