Create an unusual design using wall fireplaces

You probably watched the famous and very popular domestic film "Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson", in which the same characters sat in the living room of their apartment on Baker Street, stretching their legs to the fireplace. What was available to an average Englishman can be afforded by our man, even if he does not go for bread in a taxi. And, unlike Holmes, you have the opportunity to choose between gas, electric and bio-fireplaces.

However, with the first option may be difficult, because, firstly, it will have to do yourself or order, and secondly, there will be a need to bring into the living room gas pipe, and thirdly, you will need permission of certain instances.

So, let's not complicate our lives and dwell on electric and bio-fireplaces. Those and others can be made in any style, and choose the right one for your interior will not be difficult. By the way, the form factor of the model depends on its price, the simplest, in the form of a strict frame, in which the niche of the furnace or its imitation is enclosed( a video screen with the recording of fire) are accessible even to families with a small income.

The purchased fireplace block is enough to bring home, unpack and hang on the wall, after which you can refuel the portal with fuel or simply connect it to the outlet if it is an electrical model. No construction, meaning mud in the room for many days, no firewood or coal that you need to store somewhere. Bio-fuel can be liquid or solid, the latter can be briquetted or granulated, so you have a choice.

How can I light a hanging fireplace?

First of all, keep in mind that liquid bio-fuel gives a beautiful, but small flame, which is practically incapable of heating a large room. Of course, there is an ecologically pure ethanol, which, in fact, is poured into a special furnace bunker, its advantages are the complete absence of smoke, soot and ash. You can mention the efficiency, corresponding at times to 95%, but the fact that, according to the producers, the bio-fireplace emits carbon dioxide no more than 2 candles, make you wonder what its effectiveness is.

Of course, among the characteristics of a bio-foci, it can sometimes be found that the heat output corresponds to two electric heaters, but for some reason the power of equivalents is never indicated. Therefore, we recommend installing models that operate on liquid bio-fuel in relatively small rooms.

Be careful when choosing a fuel block, it must be equipped with a special valve, which regulates the intensity of the flame.

Among other things, in the market of heating systems, you can find models that are ordinary, but suspended on the wall and even in the middle of the room solid fuel fireplaces, where you can load briquettes or granules. Such a hanging fireplace can also be classified as a "bio", and, provided that white pellets( pellets) and special household briquettes( there are also industrial briquettes) do not produce smoke and soot, it is possible to abandon the chimney by installing a conventional hood.

However, a standard bio-fireplace can be used for burning pellets, if the fuel tank is made in the form of a removable glass made of steel or refractory glass. Fuel briquettes and granules in comparison with ethyl alcohol are more convenient, since the last furnace can be filled only after the fire extinguishes and the fireplace cools.

Briquettes can be thrown into the fireplace like ordinary firewood, and granules are poured with a metal scoop, like coal. For 24 hours, you need 5 liters of alcohol, that is, 1 canister, and at the same time, no more than two dozen are needed for briquettes, since they are usually laid in 2 pieces and burned to the coals for an hour, and another hour the coals are smoldering to their fullcombustion. Ash content of briquettes and granules is up to 1% of their mass.

What is more convenient - fireplaces wall or hinged?

The price of such a question is the space occupied by the hearth in the room. If, for example, a hinged firebox can be placed above a stand for firewood or briquettes, then the fireplaces on the wall are completely occupied by the area allocated to them. However, the latter are more effective, undoubtedly, the latter, because they are made of brick, using a cast-iron furnace that increases the heat output.

Suspended "foci" are made exclusively of steel, and are, as a rule, small in size to facilitate the design. As a consequence, the furnace, coated with refractory material, is also made of steel, with the exception of a few particularly successful models existing today, the doors of the suspended fireplace are not available to prevent overheating of its housing.

Quite another matter - wall-mounted bio-foci and electric fireplaces. Both are mobile units that can be installed in any room as desired. For example, after warming up the living room, you carry the fireplace into the bedroom just before sleep, and at night do not feel the discomfort that usually brings with it a drop in temperature during the dark. If you have several such mobile fireplaces available, during the interruption of central heating in a city apartment, you can install several heaters in one room, where the whole family gathers for joint leisure activities. At night, bio and electric fireplaces are placed in the bedrooms, and the cold will recede before the revitalizing warmth of ecologically clean foci.
