How to disassemble the toilet bowl and collect without unnecessary details?
Before starting work, make sure that the shut-off valve on the supply pipe is working properly and close it tightly, and then empty the tank. Having unscrewed the handle of the lever of the mechanism located outside( modern systems often have a button as such), we understand how to open the toilet bowl. On the Soviet toilet, it simply rises, the later designs can have lock locks, sometimes the lid simply reclines on hinges.
Before disassembling the toilet bowl, unscrew the flexible hose from the tap, and the same manipulations are carried out with a fixing nut holding the cock on the tank. The first part of the mechanism is removed. To remove the second unit of the device in the Soviet design, we have nothing left but to remove the toilet bowl. The fact is that these rather outdated toilets consist of three parts: between the tank and the water closet there is a ceramic platform, which is a separate detail. It is through it that the bolts hold, and the tank itself, and the drain valve.
But before it is necessary to disconnect the platform itself, fixed with the bolts of the toilet seat. We unscrew them, remove the rubber cuff that connects the toilet bowl to the outlet socket of the platform, and here is a Soviet tank in our hands. Now unscrew the flush bolt nuts, disconnect the pad, which is also fixed by silicone to the "guitar" - a gasket of the appropriate shape, ensuring the sealing of the drain holes.
If the tank is supported on metal bolts, it is likely that the nuts are rusted on them, in this case try oil or acetic acid, and only in the extreme case, cut the bottom of the bolts together with the nuts, but do not damage the toilet.
In modern tanks, the valve is held on a sealing ring, threaded and perfectly untwisted. There is also no cuff leading to the toilet, which saves you from an extra weak link in the system, the entire flushing system is installed directly on the special platform of the water closet shell, however, there is still a gasket to avoid leaks.
The seat of the tank, also fastened to it by a fixing nut, passes through the gasket into the drain bell, through which water under pressure is fed into the bowl. Installation of the toilet bowl is carried out without any adapters( except Soviet, concealed and suspended tanks), for a good installation of the gasket, you must carefully clean the place under it and cover it with silicone.
How to fix the toilet bowl and put it in its place?
The modern mechanism of the crane is easy to disassemble, it is possible to understand the principle of detaching parts from each other even without a circuit. We unscrew the fixing nut located in the middle of the unit, and here we see the membrane of the valve, which ensures the shutoff of water supply when the float floats up. If the tank continues to fill even after the float is in the upper position, then the reason is in the valve, and most likely the membrane will be with a hole.
Change it and connect the tap to its original state. In rare cases, it will be necessary to change the whole water supply mechanism, how to remove it, it was said above. If the water flows into the toilet bowl permanently, the drainage mechanism does not work, either in the drain valve or in the gasket, which ensures reliable sealing of the outflow tube necessary to prevent the tank from overfilling.
