Kitchen design with gas column, masking
To avoid confusion, let's first of all clarify that the design - kitchen design with a gas column and repairing a room with an existing column is a different thing. So let's try to consider the first option in more detail. Your kitchen is like a clean sheet, and you need to conveniently and practically place in it the necessary furniture, appliances and water heater. Of course, the project must start with the purchase of the device itself. And of course, the smaller and more compact it will be, the easier it will be for you to "stick" and disguise it under the conceived interior.
Modern manufacturers offer a wide choice of gas columns, among which you will find quite compact. But do not forget that its size is directly proportional to the technical characteristics and power.
This design can be placed between kitchen cabinets or it can be the final link and located at the beginning or at the end of all kitchen cabinets. Everything depends on the order in which you will buy elements of the interior. If first you buy a heater, then under its parameters it will be easy to pick up kitchen furniture, and if on the contrary, you are unlikely to pick up a column of the right size, and it will have to be installed as the final element.
So, the gas heater can be placed both along and at the corner joint between the kitchen set, as shown in diagram 1.
Alternatively, the column can also be placed in the corner, while "connecting" the kitchen cabinets and masking the column itself under the cabinet,as shown in the photo below.
This kind of disguise is called built-in, i.e. The device is placed in a suitable kitchen cupboard. Usually this option is used in extreme cases, when it is impossible to hide it from prying eyes in another way. But you need to know that on the sides of the device there should be a little space( enough a couple of centimeters) for ventilation, and the "shell" for the column should not have a lower and upper horizon, but only a door! The kitchen wall, above which the heater is installed, must be treated with a special refractory mixture. Cables and pipes leading to the column, in no case can not be built into the wall.
As in any other water heating system in a gas structure, there are pipes through which water enters the device and a chimney. All this is easily masked by means of a special box, the material and color of which is selected for the conceived interior design.
Kitchen furniture and gas column design
We have figured out the ways of camouflage. But when you can not disguise, you have to make an element of the interior of the column and try to match the overall design style. In this case, usually there is only one thing - paint it in the tone of the room or in accordance with the style to paint with a stencil.
Remember that the metal case is heated to a certain temperature, so the paint should be heat-resistant, otherwise it will simply char in some areas of the surface or fall behind
. If your kitchen already has a gas heater, then the following should be considered when choosing furniture:
- Ergonomics beforeTotal! Give up cumbersome and bulky furniture, especially if you have a small kitchen and the main goal - space saving;
- Try to maximally approximate the depth and width of wall cabinets to the thickness of the column, so that it does not "stick out" when the installation of furniture sets, but was with them in the same plane.
As a result, with the proper placement of furniture or all at once to the maximum, the kitchen design with a gas column will be closer to a cozy ideal. And do not forget that specialists should install such systems, and your sketch must be approved by the municipal service.
