Step-by-step instruction for the construction of pergolas with their own hands

The dimensions of the structure are determined on the basis of its location or according to the scheme.

1. Take the bar - 6 pcs. They will serve as columns, on which the upper elements of the pergola will be fixed. In the upper part we saw special grooves. In the bottom, you need to make a niche in which the bracket will be installed.

2. At the top of the bars will be fixed using beams with cross rails. It looks like a ladder. In front and behind, the staircase will be flat. At the edges it will taper from the back wall to the front of the pergola. That is, you will get a slope. In total, you need to make six "flights of stairs"( 4 level, 2 with a slope).

To make the construction process follow the plan, it is better to use the drawings.

3. Mounting and gluing all the spans, you need to paint all the elements of the structure( beams, staircases).

4. Further, as shown in the photo, we begin assembling the pergolas for the dacha with our own hands.

First of all, we fix, with the help of bolts, the brackets to the lower prepared part of the beams.

Then, proceed to the side wall. Screws fix the side span in the upper part of the two beams, to the side without grooves. The lower part of the two beams is connected by a board fixed with clamps.

5. Having prepared one half of the garden pergola, it is necessary to make its markings on the ground and in the places of securing the beams to drill holes( holes).Next, set the prepared side.

It is very important to secure the rear beams firmly to the wall of the house. Drill a special drill hole in the wall, and, as shown in the photo, we screw them with a special dowel.

6. Next, install two medium pergola supports.

7. Now, the turn came to mounting the upper part of the back and front wall of the half of the pergola.

Important condition. As can be seen in the photo, the upper span of the span must be longer than the lower half of the width of the middle support bar, and the full width of the outer bars. That is, the upper part of each span on one side will be in the groove of the last bar, on the other hand it lies on the middle support bar. Spans are fixed with screws.

8. After installing one half of the structure, you can install the second one. Since, the middle bars already fixed, the second part of the pergola will consist only of the side wall. After its installation, the upper spans( front and rear, as well as on the first part of the pergola) are attached.

9. For the strength of the structure and installation of the roof, two transverse beams are installed. Thus, we get three compartments for the roof.

10. Having ascertained, with the help of the level that everything is leveled out, it is possible to concrete the bottom part of the metal brackets, which are attached to the beams.

11. Then, the roof is mounted. First, in the back, adjacent to the house, you need to fix the boards from above, under them pull the cable for each side of the fabric. On the cable, using the fasteners, put on the cloth.
