The gas column does not turn on: why, what to do

Among the different types of water heaters, gas columns are most popular due to their ease of operation, as well as efficient and economical operation. But, like any technique, a flow heater can also break down. And very often in case of a breakdown the device does not turn on at all. However, this situation does not always occur due to a malfunction of the device itself.

The problem with column ignition may occur due to:

1. No traction. On the situation when combustion products have accumulated in the ventilation duct, or if an alien object has got there and the thrust has worsened, a special sensor will react in the heater. As a result, the gas will not be supplied to the burner.
2. Low battery. This reason often appears in devices with electric ignition, powered by batteries. Although many companies claim the need to replace the batteries only once a year, in practice, many column owners have made sure that such manipulation is required more often.
3. Low water pressure. In this case, the reason is insufficient water pressure in the water supply system. In addition, the intake of water can interfere with the clogging of cleaning filters.
4. Deformation or damage to the membrane. This part of the column often wears out and requires regular replacement.

• Check the draft in the ventilation duct of the column. Opening the window, bring your palm or burning match to the chimney hole. With normal draft, you will feel the movement of air with your palm or you will see that the flame has deflected or faded. If the thrust is bad, you need to clean the channel( this task should be entrusted to specialists).
• Check the condition of the batteries and if they are dead, replace the batteries.
• Check the water supply to the column. To do this, open a faucet with cold water in the washbasin. If the head is weak, then this is the cause of the problem with the inclusion of the column. Also check the filters, and if clogged, clean it, and if the contamination is very strong, replace the filters with new ones.
• Check the condition of the diaphragm and replace it with a new part, if necessary.
