Most often, owners of a private or country house are thinking about buying a gas heater, but urban residents are also interested in such equipment. Modern speakers are available, reliable and compact. But like any technique, you can fail, no matter whether you use the device from Electrolux or Bosch, or bought a column Vector, Neva, Oasis, Aster or other manufacturer. The main spare parts that may be required to repair the gas column are:

1. Burner. This part is located inside the unit under the heat exchanger and is needed for heating the water. Often, the burner becomes dirty and needs regular cleaning. However, there are situations when this part has to be replaced with a new one.
2. Heat exchanger. This is one of the main parts of the column, made of copper( considered the best option) or steel. Replacement of the heat exchanger may be required when a fistula appears or if excess scum is formed inside this part, if the unit can not be welded or cleaned.
3. Water and gas assembly. This part of the column is responsible for regulating the supply of both water to the heat exchanger and gas fuel to the main burner. In many models it is represented by separate nodes - gas and water. In the gas unit, it may be necessary to replace the ignition plug, the wick, the piezo ignitor or the burner. The most common problem with a water knot is damage to the membrane. Also, leakage may occur due to damaged gaskets. Complete replacement of the unit is carried out in case of its destruction or inability to perform local repairs.
4. Safety sensors. They are also one of the key parts of the column, necessary to protect the device from overheating, lack of traction, gas leakage and other problems. The safety system may need to replace the overheating sensor, thermocouple, solenoid valve or other sensors.
5. Supply hoses. To mount the column, any owner of such equipment will require special flexible hoses that complement gaskets and fittings. They easily withstand heat, are resistant to breakage and lateral compression. Thanks to such hoses, the column is quickly connected to both the gas main and the water supply system.
6. Ignition system. In columns with piezo-spark, a piezoelectric element is sometimes required. In devices with automatic ignition, batteries must be replaced regularly.
7. Air duct. This part of the column is important for diverting combustion products from the unit to the ventilation shaft or through the wall to the street( if it is a turbocharged column with a coaxial tube).The air duct can be corrugated or made of steel( galvanized or covered with a heat-resistant enamel).The length of the duct can be up to three meters, and the diameter is selected taking into account the power of the column and the number of points of water distribution serviced by the apparatus.

• For a column heat exchanger to serve for a longer time, it is worth paying attention to water hardness( sometimes it is recommended to install filters and use softeners) and its temperature( maximum heating is undesirable, since it stimulates scale deposition).
• Installation of all components connected to the gas supply of the column should only be carried out by specialists.
• It is important to take care of sufficient ventilation of the room in which the heater is located.
• If the column is disconnected for a long time in an unheated room, its heat exchanger must be empty, otherwise freezing of water will result in the rupture of the tubes of this part.
