Getting ready for winter - we warm the ceiling of the mineral wool in a private house

The insulation of the ceiling with mineral wool solves at once two problems - loss of heat and cost savings, which must be allocated monthly from the family budget to pay for utilities.

Especially this issue is relevant today, when the prices for gas and electricity are growing by leaps and bounds.

Despite the fact that earlier the walls and floors in the house were exposed to high-quality thermal insulation, heat losses can not be avoided until the ceiling is warmed with mineral wool or other suitable material.

All the heat in the house accumulates just under the ceiling, and if its surface is left unprotected, the possible heat losses will be about 60% in the cold season.

In addition, the insulation of the ceiling surface with mineral wool will save the house from the following troubles:

  • availability of frost from inside the house, at the corners of the ceiling;
  • presence of fungus and mold at the top on the walls;
  • too humid indoor air;
  • sudden temperature changes;
  • the formation of steam in a non-insulated roof.

As a rule, simultaneously with the insulation of the ceiling, the vapor barrier material is also laid, thereby prolonging the service life of the structural ceiling and roofing elements.

Warming of the ceiling

If the private house has low ceilings, their insulation from the inside is inappropriate because of the reduced height of the space.

Therefore, provide insulation and vapor insulation of the ceiling from the outside, on the attic floor of the house.

Let's consider in detail each of the options for thermal insulation of the ceiling surface.

Ceiling insulation technology from the inside of the house

Insulation of the ceiling with mineral wool in a private wooden or brick house, from the inside,.

Having at hand all the necessary materials and tools, the insulation of the surface of one room can be performed in a couple of days.

For work the following materials will be needed:

  • minvata, thickness 10-50 cm;
  • vapor barrier membrane;
  • guide metal profile( can be wooden beams);
  • fasteners, glue composition.

Work order:

  1. With the help of the building level, we mark the surface of the ceiling for the construction of a metal or wooden skeleton;
  2. We equip the frame. The width between the guides should be less than the width of the roll insulation by about 5 cm;
  3. Adhesive we process the marked surface of the ceiling. On it we lay the mineral wool, gradually unfolding the roll between the guides. It is not recommended to strongly compress and squeeze the material, since its structure with air cavities inside is deformed and it will not hold the cold well;
  4. At the final stage of the insulation of the ceiling in a wooden or brick private house with mineral wool, heat insulation is made with sheets of plasterboard or slabs of fiberboard.

Under roof thermal insulation of ceiling

The technology of ceiling insulation in a house under the roof differs from the ongoing work from the inside of the room by the ease of installing heat-insulating material.

In addition, the following method has several advantages, which are:

  • in the possibility of carrying out works, not paying attention to the height of ceilings;
  • the process of insulation does not require the arrangement of a bearing frame, which considerably saves the consumption of construction material and financial resources;
  • insulation of the ceiling surface in the house if necessary can be multi-layer.

The entire sequence of heat insulation works in the attic is reduced to the arrangement of mineral wool on the surface of the overlap in a certain order.

Mineral wool is laid according to the method of brick laying with displacement, each of its new segments overlaps the previous layer.

But before, on the debris cleared from the debris, the vapor-insulating material is spread, its joints are glued with building scotch.

Then spread the insulation, making sure that there are no gaps between the beams of the floor.

After 15 minutes, the mineral wool will settle itself and take its final form.

If the thickness of the layer of insulation is obtained above the beams, then the height of the latter is raised due to additional bars.

Do not cover the surface of the mineral wool with anything.

But to move later in the attic space, it is recommended to mount a wooden covering or simply lay the boards on the beams.

Thus, the mineral wool will not be deformed.

When the ceiling of the attic is insulated, the roof itself acts as the ceiling surface.

Under the roofing should be placed a waterproofing layer, which will prevent the ingress of moisture to the rafters and insulation.

Video:

The main thing is that between the roofing products and the waterproofing there is a ventilation space of 2-3 cm, necessary for the accumulation and evaporation of the condensate.

Thermal insulation is laid between the rafters in a winch or fixed with a construction stapler.

The mounting technology depends on the density and thickness of the selected products. The roll mineral wool has a thickness of less than 50 mm, the thickness of the mineral wool produced in the seams is more than 10 cm.

In addition, the reinforcement frame or kapron mesh will further strengthen the structure.

Prepared in this way, the surface is equipped with a vapor barrier film, which will not allow moisture to negatively affect the heat-insulating ability of mineral wool.

Ways to insulate the ceiling with mineral wool in the sauna

Experts recommend the insulation of the ceiling in a bath with mineral wool experts not by chance.

This thermal insulation material, though afraid of moisture, which is easily solved by applying a hydrobarrier, is an excellent option for insulating baths.

Minvata does not burn and, most importantly, it belongs to the number of environmentally friendly building materials.

The ceiling in the bath can be insulated inside and outside the room. Let's consider both methods in detail.

The thermal insulation of the ceiling with mineral wool from the inside is as follows:

  1. The base of the ceiling in the bath is equipped with a hydrobaryon. On a wooden ceiling, it is fixed with a stapler, if the concrete plane - for gluing use glue. A hydrobarrier is necessary to prevent moisture absorption by the mineral wool from the attic floor environment;
  2. Transversely, the joists are fitted with a wooden crate. Due to it, the surface will be divided into areas that are then covered with mineral wool. The spacing between the beams should be less by 4-5 cm of the thermal insulation width;
  3. Mineral cotton wool is laid between the beams, a parabarrier is laid over it and fixed;
  4. The insulated zone of the ceiling in the bath is equipped with foil polyethylene.

The insulation of the ceiling in the bath from the attic side can be carried out in two ways. The first provides for the insulation of the wooden base, the second - the thermal insulation of the reinforced concrete surface.

The scheme of warming

The wooden ceiling surface is insulated according to the technology already described:

  • The vapor barrier layer is laid on the base of the ceiling in the bath. As it can be used roofing paper or pergamon;
  • On the vapor barrier material between the beams of the ceiling, roll or tile mineral wool is equipped;
  • The waterproofing layer is laid over the insulation, which is fixed on the beams;
  • At the final stage, the wooden beams are mounted on the beams, after which it will be possible to move freely afterwards.

Thermal insulation of the concrete ceiling base from the attic side occurs with a slight difference from the technology given above.

The difference lies in the need to build a skeleton framework.

At the first stage the reinforced concrete slab is equipped with a waterproofing layer, as this type of building material is inherent in absorbing moisture.

A wooden crate is built on top of it. The bars are mounted in steps of 4-5 cm less than the width of the insulation.

Between them lay thermal insulation material, its thickness can be increased by the use of several layers.

The entire structure is protected by a hydrobarrier, on top of which a simple wooden floor is built, due to the beams of the crate, for the possibility of movement.
