Material of pressure and pressureless sewer pipes
The scheme of the sewerage of an apartment building is quite simple: a natural flow through the pressureless pipes to the main collector and the pumping of sewage with powerful pumps to collection points and regeneration. The drainage system of the private house is built on the same principle. But there are some nuances.
With a small volume of sewage, there is no particular difference in the choice of pipeline material with natural and forced drainage. It's great if your site is on the slope, then the distribution of the pressureless sewer pipes and the location of the septic tank are determined unequivocally. If the drains have to be driven to the collector under pressure, the installation of a reinforced pressure armature becomes inevitable. We choose the material.

Cast-iron pipes .Details on the characteristics of these products can be found on our website. In urban conditions - another classic, for suburban construction - too expensive, inconvenient in installation and operation. At the same time, the mechanical properties for pressure systems in these pipes are the best.
- PVC pipes for sewer pressure systems .Lightweight version of economy class. Pros: fast installation, which you can do yourself, a wide range of fittings, low price. However, even in a non-pressure version, PVC sewage pipes have a whole bunch of flaws. Low plasticity, heat resistance and brittleness of the material can cause cracking of PVC products during seasonal deformations of the soil;rubber seals of fittings and joints quickly lose their elasticity and require replacement. To search for and eliminate such leaks is very troublesome.
- Reinforced concrete and asbestos-cement .These materials are used very rarely in private housing construction. Cross sections of such pipes and their weight are suitable for collectors and main pressure sewage systems of high pressure, and in the suburban areas they will look ridiculous.
High-pressure and low-pressure PE drain pipes from
polyethylene appeared in pipeline systems of various purposes relatively recently, but gradually conquered construction markets. The causes lie on the surface:
- high plasticity, resistance to mechanical shear;
- corrosion and hydraulic stability almost like that of cast iron;
- low specific weight( 1 pm PE100 with a diameter of 40 mm weighs 0.5 kg), ease of installation of a pressure head scheme, the same as for PVC pipes;
- reasonable price: running meter of pipe at 11-16 atm d = 50 on average costs 54 rubles;
- is an exhaustive assortment of connecting parts that allows you to build fan circuits of any complexity.
The thickness of PE100 walls of pressure sewer pipes varies in the range 3-70 mm, which is even redundant for gravity execution, but guarantees a long service life( up to 30 years) of the sewage disposal complex, therefore we recommend choosing between PVC and polyethylene in favor of the latter.
Double-ply corrugated pipes for non-pressure sewerage
The next step in the development of technology for the production of light, reliable and easy-to-install pipeline components. Profiling of the outer circumference has reduced the material consumption of these polyethylene products, simultaneously increasing the ring stiffness. A sandwich made of molded outer corrugation and an inner layer with excellent hydraulic properties is ideal for storm and natural domestic sewage. Add impact strength, low coefficient of thermal expansion, high yield strength and get an almost perfect design.
These sewer pipes are installed in two ways:
- with special couplings and O-rings;
- by the butt welding method.
