To separate one large room into two or more small ones, use baffle walls.
They are not load-bearing structures, but they are strong enough, resistant to moisture and installed permanently.
When constructing partitions of this type with their own hands, it is necessary to comply with fire regulations and SNiP requirements.
Partitions with their own hands are installed not only in living quarters.
In a bath, where the piers should be not only strong, but also fireproof, brick partitions will be the most suitable option.

Design features
The brickwork of brickwork is made by own hands, observing the requirements of SNiP and fire protection norms to make the structure durable and reliable.
The construction of partitions with their own hands begins after all the construction works, when the walls and ceilings are completely ready.
Video:
If the partitions made of bricks are erected in the apartment with their own hands, then the foundation is not made for them, and in the private house the piers are placed on both the foundation and the floor beams.
Make the foundation quite laborious, but this foundation will be reliable and durable.
SNiP and fire regulations require that the thickness of the partition is not less than 10 cm.
For construction, fireproof materials should be used, therefore the most common material for such work remains brick.
The weight of the partition of this type is quite large, so it is installed only on reinforced concrete floors.
To reduce weight in work, you can use hollow bricks, but even such a structure is undesirable for old houses and on wooden floors.
In an apartment for partitions of this type, foam concrete or gas silicate blocks can be used, and in a bath, pool, bathroom, where the humidity usually exceeds the norm, it is best to use solid brick, which does not so quickly absorb moisture and slowly breaks down.
Cracks and cracks should be permanently sealed so that insects are not bred in them.
You should know that in a new building you need to refrain from erecting partitions of this type for half a year, until the house shrinks.
Brick masonry is usually plastered from above, so it is better not to fill the joints between bricks completely, so that the plaster is stronger on the wall.
The grade of bricks also matters. Usually for the piers of this type, the M100 brand is used with a size of 200 by 120 by 65 mm. Usually they build partitions into half a brick.
If its length is more than 3 m, then one masonry should not be laid above 1 m, so that the wall does not warp.
Mortar for masonry
The quality of the mortar itself depends on the quality of the mortar for masonry. Usually a mixture of sand and cement is used in the following proportion: one part of cement and three parts of sand.
Dry ingredients are mixed and diluted with water. The consistency of the solution should be such that it can be freely taken by a trowel.
To achieve the maximum quality of the solution, it is necessary to take clean river sand, in which there are no small pebbles and inclusions of clay. Of course, the solution made with a concrete mixer will be of better quality than that made by hand.
Partitioning
Layout is the first and most important stage of the work. On the floor and on the side walls, the contours of the future product are marked, as well as the places where the cord will be fastened.
Before beginning the construction of a partition of this type, the foundation is leveled using a concrete screed, as shown in the video.
Video:
After that, a layer of roofing material or film is laid on the floor or foundation. On the base put the solution and lay out the brick rows. A solution of the first row of its thickness compensates for the unevenness of the substrate.
To ensure that the structure is laid out strictly in terms of level, use a cord stretched between adjacent walls, and level the first row with a level.
Each successive row is also carefully checked for horizontal and straight lines of the rows so that the wall does not warp or protrude.
In order for the partition to be firmly attached to the side walls, they are made with stitches 3-5 cm in depth, into which the marginal bricks of the partition are built.
The thickness of the mortar between the bricks should be from 1 to 1.5 cm.
For the strength of the structure it is necessary to make self-reinforcement. To do this, metal reinforcement, the thickness of which should be 4 - 6 mm, lead one end into the wall, and the second - into the masonry.
Reinforcement is also done with a fine mesh, which is laid in the masonry every four rows.
Reinforcement will make the masonry sturdy and stable, so do not neglect this process.
If you put a brick on the edge, you should make a vertical bandaging of the seams when the vertical seam of one row is located above the middle of the brick of the neighboring row.
Video:
As already mentioned, partitions of this type are not load-bearing, so between the structure and the ceiling you need to leave a small gap, the thickness of which is 2 - 3 cm. It is filled with felt and then covered with plaster.
The top row of the partition is usually made of brick battles, the thickness of which is suitable for construction. The video shows how to build a partition of this type.
Brick laying on the edge
Often to save space in the apartment, the brick is laid out on the edge. Masonry on the edge has its pros and cons.
In addition to the fact that the thickness of the masonry on the edge is noticeably smaller, so it saves space in the room, this masonry saves also building materials - both brick and mortar.
Especially noticeable such savings will be if you need to make several buildings in the house, apartment or bath.
In addition, laying on the edge with your own hands will help to save your money as well.
However, the masonry on the edge has its drawbacks. Such work can be done by far not everyone, therefore for the erection of equal sections it is best to turn to the help of professionals.
Building materials for such masonry should be of high quality, for all requirements of SNiP and also comply with fire regulations.

Also, in accordance with the requirements of SNIP, it is necessary to reinforce such partitions.
It is not necessary to build a wall in an apartment or a house for one visit, it is better to divide the work into two or three steps so that the layer can dry out and harden.
Ridge laying is shown in the video above.
Partitions in the bath
Partitions of this type in the bath are made even in cases where the construction itself is made of wood.
Pieces of brick in the bath, as well as in the house or apartment, set on a foundation, which is pre-prepared.
For the insertion of the oven make a special window, and in the lower part of the partition you need to make ventilation holes.
If you make a brick partition in a wooden bath, then at the joints of the partition with the tree you should install a wooden clypeus.
