While engaged in the construction of a private house, many people are thinking about how to sew the house with a siding with their own hands.
These work is quite feasible on their own, you just need to follow the instructions clearly, and then you will have a house like a picture.
Siding is a modern type of finishing materials that have been manufactured with the latest technology in mind and are used in construction relatively recently.
The photo shows the appearance of siding panels.
For the first time, siding was built in the USA( no more than half a century ago), and in Russia the material appeared in the early 90s.
The most commonly used metal, vinyl or fibrocemented siding.
The installation of the facade part of the houses is usually carried out with vinyl siding( the log house is a house, a building made of aerated concrete or a structure for which the brick was used for walls, it does not matter), because polymers that increase the operational properties of the material are used in its production.
If you used a brick when building a house, and you want the building to look like it's made of wood or stone, then it's better to use a socle siding.
The photo shows an example of how the walls and the gable of the house look like, decorated with socle siding.

Material characteristics
material has the highest strength( tolerates rain, snow and wind), a relatively low priceand beautiful external characteristics( panels produce different colors, they all look super modern and perfectly complement the overall look of the house).
The photos provide a variety of colors for the material.

This siding is completely non-flammable and well tolerates sharp temperature changes. Even the presence of dampness can not cause the appearance of fungi on it.
Therefore, facades made of such material can be washed easily with water, and do not care about how this process will affect the covering of the house.
Whether you are plating yourself or hiring professionals, in any case, you need to buy quality material.
No matter how well the installation was made to a brick or a log house, with poor quality panels, all efforts will go down quite quickly - frost will be cracks, and the panels will fade from sunlight.
It is also important that the sheets have the same thickness, otherwise they will deform in case of a strong wind. The photo shows the consequences of installing low-quality materials.
Therefore, when buying correctly to be guided by the ratio of the price and quality of the goods. Now let's try to hold the siding of the house siding by yourself, examining in detail all the stages of the work.
Required tools
If you decide to do the work yourself, then for their implementation you can not do without a number of tools:
- saw with small teeth or grinders;
- metal cutting shears;
- screwdrivers and screwdrivers;
- hammer;
- measuring tape;
- grit and level;
- stepladder.
With their help it is possible to perform all the installation yourself, without involving specialists for this.
The siding is considered to be a siding for dry exterior finishes and due to the light weight of the material, it is possible to mount the panels from the outside both on a wooden house and on a house made of aerated concrete.
Tools we already have, now it is necessary to conduct preparatory work.
Preparatory work for
Before working on the frame, prepare the working surfaces.
Preparation of the working surface involves the dismantling of certain elements: drain pipes, window shutters, external sills, cornices and troughs.
For fixing old cracks and crevices we use a mounting foam or cement mortar. If the house is old, then we clear dirt, dust, splinter and paint, mold and rotten plots from it.
The log house is better treated with an antiseptic and fire retardant, the house made of aerated concrete or foam concrete is treated with a primer of deep penetration. You can also process brick.
The photo shows the appearance of the house, after the preparatory works.

After completing this work, we study the surface and determine the need to install a frame system.
If the log house and the tree has a smooth surface, then you can do without a skeleton( in the event that you do not plan to insulate it).
If the building is made of aerated concrete or a brick is used in the construction, and if the log house has an uneven surface outside, the frame installation is necessary.
The photos show examples of the appearance of houses, for which it is necessary to install a frame under siding.

Mounting of the frame
The frame for siding is made of galvanized profiles, which suits best if the outside of the house is bricked or the building is made of aerated concrete.
If the house is built of logs, then it is possible to make a frame system from slats measuring 60 to 40 mm, having a residual humidity of not more than 20%.
It is better to process the rails with an antiseptic and how to dry them, thereby increasing the service life of the material and extending the life of the frame.
And now, let's proceed to the installation of the battens:
- Using the tape measure and the level, we make the marking of straight lines so that a closed contour is obtained;
- We measure the distance along the entire line before the cap, we find the smallest indicator and on the bottom we mark another contour( in the future we will set the starting line for this line, so it is important that it does not deviate from the level, otherwise the facing sheets may become distorted);
- Using U-shaped fasteners, we carry out the installation of vertical guides( at the same time it is better to start from the corners).To ensure that the guides are firmly seated on a brick or a log, we put pieces of wooden blocks or rigid foam under them;
- Where there are corners, windows, doors, as well as in places where street lamps are installed, it is better to install several additional guides on the outside of the brick or log;
- It is not necessary to make vertical fastening between each other, otherwise the outflow of air will be disturbed and mold or fungus will appear because of lack of ventilation.
After completing the installation of the billet on the log house or brick, we proceed to install the waterproofing and insulation.
If you do not understand the process of installing the wireframe, then on the video you can better study the whole scheme of the work done.
Video:
If the building is made of wood or aerated concrete, a layer of waterproofing is required, the insulation is carried out at will( if possible, it is better to make a building with insulation).
As a heater you can use expanded polystyrene or mineral wool( you can use any other insulation materials other than those that are incompatible with the material of the walls of your house).
We lay the heater in the spaces between the frame, if necessary, then fix the material in additional fixings.
The video shows how to properly insulate the house before starting the installation work.

Mounting socle
Without a socle can not do any building, because the dam protects the foundation from destruction and erosion with its water.
The plinth is mounted very simply: on the installed frame we assemble the lower horizontal profiles. After winding on them the initial bars about 25 cm in length.
Using the corner and the level, we measure the knees of the cap( bearing parts).
Next we are assembling the knees from the profiles.
The strength of the construction is achieved with the help of an installation for the supports of the elbows of the initial bar and its fastening with dowel-nails( such nails have a length of up to 8 cm).
For the hardness of the structure at the angles of the knees, we mount the profiles horizontally. In the photo you can see the view of the finished basement of the building.

Rules for installing
There are certain conditions for installing siding sheets.
To ensure that the work has been completed correctly and the material has a long operating life, all installation should be carried out in accordance with the following rules:
- It is necessary to observe a thermal gap of at least 1 mm between the screws and panels during the fastening( this is to ensure that the panels do not startcracks are formed when their surface expands due to heating by the sun's rays);
- It is also necessary to leave gaps between the panels in the end and edge joints from 3 to 5 mm( during the installation of the siding in winter, the gaps should be made even more, since the material is compressed from the cold);
- If the manufacturer has already made holes for the fasteners on the panels, the screws must be fixed strictly in the center of the hole, as they are provided for the longitudinal extensions of the panel.
All these rules must be applied when installing the siding on the outside of the house so that the material can better sit on the previously assembled frame.
Siding installation
After installing the battens, the siding panel installation should not cause you any difficulties.
To begin with we fix the starting profile using the building level. After we string on it sheets of panels, each of which is attached separately to the crate.
We mount the fasteners on metal screws, matched to the color of the panels. The main difference between self-tapping for metal and conventional ones is in the size of their bonnet.
Their hat is quite large and has several corrugations for more reliable fixing.
Thus we fix the panels outside the building, rising from the bottom up, until we reach the eaves and do not rest against the pediment.
Now we need to build the cornice. We place the notches on the pediment and conduct the installation of the initial strip on the brick( log or some other material from which the house is made).
After we attach the profile to the bar, which will act as the curtain rail. We fix the cornice to the roof, using the self-tapping screws of the appropriate color.
Next we need to face the gable itself. For many who are engaged in building and facing the house for the first time, such a thing as a pediment is not entirely clear. Let's understand what he is like?
The pediment is the upper part of the facade of the structure, limited by the eaves and the roof.
As a matter of fact, the gable is the wall of the attic floor, and since we have just done the installation of the laths on the walls, it will not be difficult to revet the gable itself.
After facing, the roof crate( protruding part) is also covered with siding, making sure that the panels enter the facing inner corners, which must be fixed in advance.
The video below shows a detailed process of attaching siding panels to the front of the building.
Video:
As you can see, it's quite possible to make a house facing yourself.
For this, you only need to prepare the necessary tools, conduct the purchase of quality material and carry out the installation in accordance with certain installation rules.
