We check the natural ventilation of
The first thing to do is to find a drier - the ventilation shaft and inspect it for airflow obstruction. Also, before connecting the domestic fan, it is recommended to clean the ventilation, remove the cobwebs, dust and accumulated dust.
With the help of a lighted candle we check the presence of air flow, the flame should deviate towards the shaft when it is brought to the vent. To find out whether there is sufficient ventilation without special appliances, you can attach a sheet of paper to the drier and release. If it continues to hang, the airflow is present. Fell, so the flow is very weak or absent. The verification procedure is provided in the photo below:
If there is no natural ventilation, it is necessary to contact the special service or the Housing office. If there is, but it is not enough, it makes sense to install an additional fan in the air channel. To date, the market offers a huge range of various fans for every taste and color, differing in principle and appearance. For household conditions of operation, an axial cooler is usually installed.
Having decided on the size and firm by the manufacturer, we proceed to install the fan with our own hands. Immediately, we draw your attention to the fact that this instruction is suitable both for installation in the bathroom and toilet, and for the kitchen, where often use a small cooler instead of drawing.
Choosing the connection diagram of
First of all, it is necessary to supply power to the future unit. It is best to do this at the repair stage by hiding the cable in the wall. Otherwise, the conductor will have to be hidden in a decorative box, then connect it to the outlet via a plug.
There are several schemes for connecting a fan in the bathroom to a 220 volt network:
- in parallel lighting;
- with a separate switch;
- via timer or sensor.
From the bulb
The most budget option is to connect to the lamp. In this case, the cooler turns on at the same time as light, and it works as long as the light is on.
A huge plus of such a connection scheme is simplicity of execution and relative cheapness, but there is a drawback, it is the work of the fan when it is not required, during water procedures a draft is created, insufficient time for airing the room, which means that you have to leave the lighting for extra time. In addition, this mode of operation reduces the life of the engine, since the start of the motor is accompanied by the wear of the electrical part and the mechanical one. A frequent on and off it shortens.
From the switch
To exclude the blind operation of the hood - you need to connect the fan through a separate switch, which can be located either on the hood itself, or as a separate key on the wall. This version of the fan connection is more expensive compared to the previous one, as the cable length increases and the circuit becomes more complicated. In addition, the connection does not need to be made from a luminaire, it is enough to make the same circuit as for lighting, but instead of a bulb there will be a hood.
Connection of the fan by a separate line through the two-key switch is better from the operating side, becauseThe extractor motor works only when needed, while the bathroom light can be switched off, independently adjust the operating time of the hood. Disadvantage - there is a chance to forget about the cooler and it will work unnecessarily long.
Through the automation
Recently, in the struggle for the buyer, manufacturers began to supply their devices with automation elements - timers and humidity sensors. A very good solution, we think, is a hood with a timer. The installation scheme is comparable in complexity to the fan connection circuit through the switch.
Connect the device you need through three wires, two 220 volts power supply, and the third signal wire, from the lighting lamp. The algorithm of operation is reduced to switching on with lighting, and switching off after a specified time( 3-30 minutes) after switching off the light. This time should be enough for the flow-through ventilation of the bathroom.
Also on the market there are models with reverse mode. The motor does not turn on while the light is on, and it starts to work after the lighting is switched off, for the time set by the timer.
We install
Manufacturers were concerned about the ease of connecting and installing the fan in the bathroom. Removing the front grille, we open the elements of fastening and commutation. Connect the fan to the 220 V network via the terminal block. When connecting, always observe the color coding of the wires. Zero is always blue, and the phase is usually white, red or black.
As you can see, connecting the wires is easy enough and it's difficult to mix up something. To install the fan in the bathroom or toilet can be either on the dowels that come with the kit, or on the building sealant or glue, if it is not possible to drill holes in the ceramic tile.
