The battery should not only heat the air in the room, but also prevent the penetration of cold air from the outside. It is on this principle that they are usually placed under the windowsill. Also it is worth considering that the windowsill should not completely close the battery.
Connection diagrams for radiators. Which is better?
The most common connection schemes are as follows:
- Single-sided circuit. If you install batteries according to this scheme, their heat transfer will be normal. In this case, the straight pipe and the return pipe are connected from one side, only the straight pipe to the upper part, and the return pipe to the bottom. Thus, all sections of the battery warm up equally. Single-pipe connection is suitable for batteries with a large number of sections.
- Lower connection diagram. Heating radiators with a lower connection are used when all pipes of the heating system are hidden in the floor. It is understood that the supply and discharge pipes will be connected to different nozzles of opposite sections. At the same time, heating batteries with a lower supply heat up unevenly and such a scheme is not very effective.
- Answering the question how correctly to connect a radiator with a large number of sections, we can say that a diagonal connection is suitable here. Such a method can be called very effective, since it ensures uniform heating of the battery and heat transfer. The essence of the method is that the pipes are connected from different sides of the battery. A straight pipe is connected to its upper part, and the reverse one to the bottom.
How to connect aluminum, steel and bimetallic heating radiators
To connect, you will need a kit for connecting radiators. It includes everything you need - nuts, bolts and fittings.
When installing a bimetal radiator, both upper and lower circuits can be used. However, it is better to give priority to the upper, two-way connection, if the battery is not longer than 10 sections. If longer - it is better to connect the battery diagonally.
As for aluminum and steel batteries, it is better to connect them on a diagonal scheme. If they have small dimensions - then you can use a side connection, however, you may need to install a circulation pump.
From all of the above, it can be concluded that the best connection of the radiator, irrespective of its type, is diagonal. It allows you to evenly warm up the battery and the room as a whole.
