Method of manufacturing the gate

First of all you will need a drawing, as well as tools and material, from which you will make a gate.
Drawing is the most important step if you make sandwich panel designs from scratch, and do not use a finished sheet of metal.
Drawings for swing gates should contain the following elements:
- opening dimension;
- required width of the gate;
- distance from frame to wall;
- height of the gate.

You can take ready dimensions: the distance from the machine body to the frame should be no less than 30 cm, the width of the garage - 2.5-3 m, the distance between the frame and the wall - 80 cm, and the required height of the construction - from 2 meters, depending on the type of car that will stand in your garage.
It's natural to make an automatic swing gate yourself if you know how to work with metal, but the good news is that if you can make a gate yourself, then save at least 30% of the amount you would spend on the purchase of the factory model.
For the manufacture of sandwich panel construction you will need the following materials and tools:
- several metal sheets;
- profiles and power loops;
- steel corners and wooden beams;
- OSB slabs if you want a warm gate.
To make the frame of the gate, you will need:
- steel profile;
- corner;
- Bulgarian;
- level for measuring placement accuracy;
- welding machine.
After the materials are purchased, you can start working: first measure the width and height of the garage opening and put these figures in the drawing.
Then, using the drawing, make a frame: for this you need to cut the corners, put them on a flat surface, put it on one level, thereby making the corners even.
Before welding the elements, make sure that the length of the corners is the same on the diagonal, and after the work is finished, grind each corner, and then treat it with anti-corrosion agent.

It's best if there are two frames - they are welded to each other, or vertically welded to the corners - this makes the construction stiff and strong, and such gates will last you much longer.
After this, you need to make the doors, this will require a corner or a pipe.
To do this, fix the guides in the frame and align the axes so that the distance between the flaps is not less than 1 mm.
After that, check how straight the corners turned out, and weld the frame - so you get a crate for your future structure.
The next step is the skin. To do this, you need to cut the metal sheet using the drawing, and make the leaves so that the right fabric exceeds the left width by 20 mm. Then this construction is welded to the frame.
Now you need to install the hinges, fixing their tops to the sash from the outside, and the bottom to the frame. You also need a bolt: it is made using vertical pins.
With these, you need to make several holes in the floor and ceiling and then weld the bolts of the bolt to the structure.
The handle for the bolt with its own hands is easy to make from the pipe element, and the horizontal plates can serve as guides: they need to be made into holes, and then attached to the corner, which must first be secured in the upright position on the leaf.
For fixing the gate in the closed position, the corkscrew is put on the element of the rod installed in the concrete covering.
Once all the elements are ready, they must be treated with a primer that protects them against corrosion and paint. After that, the gates from the sandwich panels are ready for installation.

First you need to put the frame and fix it on the slopes with the help of pins, the ends of which need to be cut, sanded and scalded.
Then the doors are hung and locks and mechanisms are put in place to close the structure.
To make an automatic gate of sandwich panels, you need to additionally purchase a special automation system that will make the process more convenient.
It is not so expensive, but it's better to buy a model of sufficient quality and avoid fakes.
