Semi-commercial linoleum

Semi-commercial linoleum - the middle between household and commercial coating.

Semi-commercial linoleum can be considered a universal material, as its multi-layer structure allows you to equip the floors of residential and public spaces with an average index of mechanical impact.

Laying technology of semi-commercial linoleum

Linoleum installation of semi-commercial type is carried out according to the standard scheme, which consists of several working stages and can be used for installing flooring in any room in the house( bedroom, living room or bathroom).

The procedure includes, first of all, the preparation of the substrate, and then proceed to the adjustment of the material to the required dimensions. Then trim and lay the flooring with subsequent sealing of the seams.

Base preparation

Prepare the base floor for laying any type of flooring - it means making its surface dry, smooth and even.

If you want to lay the semi-commercial type of flooring on the old linoleum, you need to make sure that its laying passes along a perfectly flat, non-swollen surface.

If the old coating has waves and defects, then it is recommended to completely remove it.

Semi-commercial linoleum is usually laid on the glue over a concrete screed, but it is possible on a wooden surface, provided that the floor is equipped with a plywood backing.

Measuring rules

Before cutting linoleum into certain segments, the roll product is unfolded on the floor for alignment purposes.

If the floor has a large area of ​​more than 20 square meters, or in the room it is planned to place heavy furniture, then glue is used - semi-commercial linoleum is glued completely to the base.

For this, one edge of the linen laid on the floor is bent and one of its underside is treated with glue, then, in the same way, the second part.

What linoleum to choose for a bathroom?

Linoleum water permeability is provided only from the outside of it, as a rule, the back part of the linen is spongy or fleecy.

For the bathroom, this material is not suitable, except for a homogeneous coating. In this case, the most suitable for laying in the bathroom are not roll products, but released in the form of panels.

Their application allows you to reduce the consumption of material, and quickly organize a quality floor covering.

For the installation of panels in the bathroom is not recommended to use glue on a water basis, since its effect will be minimal.

Water-soluble adhesives have the property of setting only after evaporation of moisture from them. But since the bath is constantly wet, the glue will not dry out completely.

As a fixing compound for floor covering in this situation it is better to use contact adhesive, made on chloroprene basis.

But to work with such a substance, you need to have some knowledge.

The technology of contact adhesive application differs from the process of using dispersion composition in that it needs to be applied to both surfaces simultaneously.

After that the applied adhesive is slightly dried, then both surfaces are joined and compacted. This technique resembles gluing wallpaper on the wall.
