How to make self-tension ceilings
Sound insulation of stretch ceiling is made by pulling a special cloth, fabric material based on polyester on the profiles. Visually, the design is simple, therefore, it is easier to install than from plasterboard. But each process has its own peculiarities and subtleties.
Installation of a simple tension ceiling. On the surface there are no pipes, communications, a room of strictly geometric form, without niches or protrusions. What you need to prepare for work:
- Material: PVC film or fabric.
- Baguette profile.
- Centimeter, measuring tape.
- Pencil.
- Water level.
- Folding protractor. Hacksaw or scissors for metal.
- Fan heater, air heater.
- Screwdriver.
- Screws or dowels.
Installation of a simple tension ceiling:
1. With the water level, find the bottom corner of the room, step back 1-2 cm, make a mark.
2. Find the zero level along the perimeter of the walls, make a mark.
3. Carry out the angle measurement with a folding protractor to flatten the profile.
4. Prepare the profile rail. There are two options:
- the length of the baguette is greater than the width of the room. The edge of the rail is cut at an angle equal to half the corner of the room;
- baguette length is less than the width of the room. One end of the rail is cut into half the corner of the room, and the second is cut to 900 for an exact fit to the second rack. The missing piece of baguette is taken and the same operation is performed with its endings, with a bevel for the opposite corner. The parts of the baguette are glued together.
