Preparatory work
Before preparing the walls for gluing new wallpaper, you must remove the old ones. To do this, moisten the foam roller with warm water, then treat the walls from the bottom up. Since the water quickly absorbed into the walls and dries, you do not need to immediately wet the entire wall. After the material is impregnated with moisture, they can easily be removed with a spatula, if you start from the bottom of the fabric and pull it upward. If the wallpaper is not sufficiently moistened, a wet roller should be used again. Repeat this step until the walls are cleared of old wallpaper.
Then the surface of the wall must be primed using a primer solution that is able to penetrate deep into the wall, leave the surface until the soil dries completely. Then it is necessary to get rid of irregularities and holes - if they are to be filled with plaster, remove the excess mix with a spatula, align and allow to dry. After that, the surfaces are treated with sandpaper and dust-free. Repair areas are ground and left until the solution dries completely.
Wall plastering for wallpapers
Walls are decorated in two or three layers, taking into account the type of wallpaper chosen for gluing the room. To do this, prepare the filler in accordance with the instructions that are attached to it. The work needs to start from the ceiling to the floor, that is from the top down.
With a spatula, the width of which is 150 mm, the mixture should be applied to another spatula with a width of 300 mm, which will be used for finishing. The tool with the mixture must be applied to the surface of the wall and run from the left side to the right, evenly distributing the filler. To remove excess material, you need to put the spatula in the opposite direction. Each new layer of putty should be overlapped relative to the previous one by five centimeters.
The most difficult part of the work is the finishing of the bottom of the walls. To do this, put a layer of putty on a wide spatula, sit down and attach it to the joint of the wall and floor, passing the instrument up. A similar action removes excess weight putty. Carry out leveling surfaces carefully, without missing sections of the wall.
After the puttying of the walls, the mixture should be allowed to dry, after which the surface is leveled using sandpaper. After cleaning and priming the walls begin to apply a second layer of finishing plaster. The work is carried out in the same way as the above instructions.
If the walls selected for wallpapering are thin-layered, for example, vinyl or silkscreen, the walls must be shpaklyuyut third layer of finish. After completing the work, it is important to achieve maximum surface smoothness.
When the walls are finished, it is necessary to coat them with a primer and allow it to dry - this will allow the wallpaper to lie flat and adhere well, prevent the formation of fungus.
