Types and models of lambreken

Thanks to the style in which the curtains with lambrequins are made, the interior of the apartment is completely changed. These elements of design came up not only to cover the banal and ugly cornice, but also with the purpose of bringing a certain zest to make the interior unique and unique. Before you decide on what you will be making lambrequins, you should know that they are of two kinds: hard and soft.

Hard lambrequin was invented a long time ago and was originally wooden. Wooden lambrequins are even now, but their use is limited to English and Russian design styles. Now, to make a hard lambrequin use a hard cloth called a "bando" or duplicate a dense fabric with non-woven or dolurin. Due to the structure of the material, it can be given all kinds of shapes, cut out all kinds of animal figures and geometric shapes. For example, as presented in these photos

When designing lambrequin, you should pay the utmost attention to the type of fabric from which they are supposed to be sewn, it is also very important combination of textures and colors, skilfully outplaying the contrast.

Soft lambrequins for the hall, in turn, are divided into simple and complex. Simple - it's just a strip of cloth with a tape in it. The strip can be taken in monochromatic color or with any print. We sew curtains with lambrequins by our own hands

So, you have thought it all over and decided that you are able to sew lambrequins for the hall with your own hands, then our master class will be useful to you.
For beginners we offer a lesson for making simple models. I want, of course, to do something that everyone gasped, but without practice and skill in this matter it is impossible. Therefore, we begin with the basics.

1. Take the square of the fabric, whose side is equal to 1.40 m, add it diagonally and note the fold of the middle of the svag.

2. Next, the assembly of the svag begins. We need a bar with marks, where we will fasten our wrinkles. We mark on the bar the desired width of the middle of the svaga and its shoulders. On the bar we hang the square so that the angle of 45 ° is observed. The middle of the svag on the fabric should coincide with the zero mark of the bar. We lay the first fold, pinning it with pins( see photo 2).

3. Next, we also form the second fold of the svag. To make it easier to control the formation of folds, in the middle of the svaga we recommend fixing something weighty( see photo 3)

4. Similarly, folding behind the wrinkle we form the entire svag, observing symmetry. The folds must be the same in depth, and there should also be symmetry with respect to the center and the required height of the svag in the center( see photo 4).

5. The rest of the fabric on the bottom must be cut off, and fasten the upper edge along the folding line with pins. Now the svag can be dissolved, transfer the pattern to a dummy cloth or paper. This will be a basic pattern. The bottom of the svaga will need to be processed with an oblique byte or hemmed, decorated with fringe or braid. The upper part of the svaga is decorated with curtain tape( see photo 5).

6. If desired, the gaps between the svagi can be covered with various decorative elements, which we have already mentioned. These can be ties, kokil'e, cascades and other( see photo 6).

7. A tie, for example, is very simple. It is necessary to build a trapezoid with parallel sides equal to the length of the decorative element. The length of the tie should be more than the length of the svag on 20%.In addition, you need to calculate the width of the tie, so that all elements are not tight on the cornice.

8. Below is a diagram of the tie.
