First of all, the decoration of the slopes allows you to seal all the formed slots in the doorway after installing the front door, thereby, to the maximum extent, seal it.

Correct execution of slopes can significantly increase overall energy savings and noise absorption throughout the apartment space.

Cladding of slopes can be carried out by a wide variety of materials, and everything depends on the wishes and opportunities of people living in the apartment.

The work has its subtleties and some nuances, but with the right approach it can be done by oneself.

At present, the slopes of the doorway can be finished with plaster, laminate, covered with MDF panels or with some decorative coating, for example, an artificial decorative stone.

The main thing is that all the cracks should be carefully sealed from the inside of the door, and the surface after the work acquired an aesthetic appearance.

Features of work

Finishing of slopes after installation of the entrance door is an obligatory and important stage of work that must be done correctly and withtaking into account all the features of the doorway.

Currently, the slopes are made with a cement mixture, as well as with MDF panels, tiles, artificial stone, using a laminate and other decorative materials.

First of all, after carrying out all necessary work, the surface of the slopes should acquire an attractive appearance and harmonize with the door frame.

After the installation of the door itself is done, the door box on both sides should be sealed well first. It is best to do this with a simple mounting foam.

This will prevent the outflow of heat from the interior of the apartment.

This procedure is better to repeat again, and after that it is necessary to check the quality of work, for which when the door is closed, hold the cigarette lighter in the corners.

In the event that even the slightest stirring of the flame of the lighter is noticed, the opening should once again pass through the foam until a complete seal is achieved.

Further, after the foam completely rises, its excess parts should be carefully cut with a construction knife and carefully aligned.

It is possible to seal the slots in the opening with a cement mortar, however this procedure is more laborious and time consuming.

In any case, after the opening is completely sealed, the clypeus is fastened from the outside.

Such platbands should hide the installation clearance from the outside and give the door a more neat appearance, except that they will protect the locks from possible hacking.

Finishing with plaster

The most commonly completed view of the slopes is attached with plaster.

This method is considered to be sufficiently effective and durable, while it does not require any additional maintenance for the further operation of the entrance door.

Make slopes of the entrance door on the basis of plaster, with the right approach and knowledge of the technology of work execution, you can do it yourself.

First of all, it is absolutely necessary to carefully prepare the surface itself for work.

To do this, it is carefully cleaned from dirt and dust, remove all the peeling material, and unevenness.

Then the slope plane is treated with a primer mix and thoroughly dried. After this, it is necessary to accurately determine the level and thickness of the application of the mixture on the surface, as well as make your own markings.

After the surface has been prepared and marked, you can go directly to the slopes, for which you should prepare a mixture that should be homogeneous and viscous.

To begin with, small beacons are made from the finished mixture over the entire surface of the slope. Then, with a spatula, the first layer must be applied carefully, which must dry, after which it is possible to apply the next one.

When the completion is very little, the final solution is prepared. After it is applied to the entire surface of the slope and dries, it is treated with a construction net to maximally even layer.

At the final stage, the surface can be painted, and can be treated with any decorative material. For more information on how to make a slope for the front door with your own hands, you can see in the video above.

Execution of slopes with decorative materials

Slabs near the entrance door can be covered with MDF panels or other similar decorative material, for example, laminate.

This method is one of the most optimal and simple, except that it is performed quite quickly. Finishing of slopes with MDF panels has a number of advantages.

First, there is the possibility of a wide choice of colors. Secondly, MDF panels are fairly easy to process and mount in place, and besides, they have quite affordable value.

For the installation of MDF panels, there is no need to thoroughly prepare the surface of the base.

It will be enough to perform the lathing of wooden laths, after which, with the help of glue, put the MDF panels on it.

All corner joints for this type of slope are mounted using special profiles.

It is even easier to make slopes near the front door with laminate. With this decorative material it's quite easy to work and when you work yourself you should not have any difficulties.

Before starting the installation of the material, the surface should be primed, and all large irregularities should be removed.

As a rule, the laminate is fastened to self-tapping screws with special decorative hats.

They can also be hidden under special masking putties, which are sold in all specialized stores.

If necessary, the layer between the laminate and the wall can additionally hide the insulation layer, which will further increase the efficiency of the slopes.

Also at the final stage, the laminate can be opened with a varnish or special alkyd paint, thus giving the slope surface an even more attractive appearance.

Slope cladding with artificial materials

It is often enough to use ceramics as a material for slopes. In addition, the surface, lined with an artificial stone, will look great.

All these universal materials have good strength and reliability, and besides, they do not require regular maintenance.

Such a surface will not be afraid even of severe temperature changes and will be able to be operated in wet conditions.

The tiles are laid on a pre-leveled and primed surface with a special glue.

In some individual cases, the surface of the slope can be leveled using a gypsum board, on top of which to lay a ceramic tile.

When laying it, it is necessary to pay special attention to the upper part of the slope, to check the strength of its adhesion.

Finishing of slopes with artificial stone will help to give the whole surface near the entrance door a rather attractive appearance.

It's a bit harder to work with a stone than with ceramic tiles, but the final result is worth it.

Before you start working with the stone itself, you must also level the surface and work it well.

The material is fastened to the base of the slope with a special adhesive, while all joints should be monitored.

When working with a stone, special attention is paid to the corner joints, which must be treated with special compounds. Also, the tightness of the material to the surface should be controlled.

Slopes, finished with a stone, do not require any special care during their operation, as well as tiles.
