Veranda or terrace?
Often these two concepts are confused, but they have a clear definition and distinction.
The veranda is a premise attached to the main part of the house. It is necessarily glazed from all sides, although most of the windows are large and single-frame, with one glass. In the warm season, the windows, as a rule, do not close. In cold weather, the verandah is not heated and serves as a waiting room in front of the house, protecting it from the wind and creating a warming air cushion.
The terrace is an open area on a common ground with a house. It can have a roof or its imitation, can be fenced, but rather is a street territory, rather than a premise.
Often the choice between these two options is not conditioned by preferences, but by climatic conditions: in the cold regions, verandas are preferred.

Given the great openness, and for the terrace also the possibility of lack of a roof, the floor is a key element. To neglect its importance and appearance is not in any case.
The most common and affordable is the wooden variant, with the wooden floor being traditionally made.
However, it is often possible to meet other options for decorating the floor on the veranda or terrace.

In the decoration of verandas and terraces use mostly such furniture, which can provide a comfortable rest and at the same time not spoil from the spray of rain, flying from the wind. Suitable wooden deck chairs, armchairs, tables, sofas and armchairs of artificial or natural siding, high-quality plastic furniture, glass tables, wicker rocking chairs, furniture with a metal base. If you want to use pillows, they must be quick-drying from artificial materials.
Live plants on the veranda: photos
Live flowers, bushes and trees allow not only to decorate and diversify the look of the local recreation area, but also imperceptibly smooth the transition from the residential area to nature. You can put plants, including trees and palms, in large pots or barrels, along the fence to let climbing creepers, from the ceiling to hang flower pots with flowers. You can even use a living neatly trimmed shrub instead of a fence - the design is determined by your vision of coziness.
