The correct removal of the formwork or "break - do not build" will not work!

Start-up time

The formwork is removed in the reverse order of installation. In order to not break the individual parts of the structure during this process, it is necessary to think about how you will remove it during the installation. Nailing connections are disconnected, boards or plywood are separated from concrete. Sometimes between the individual boards are inserted thin narrow pieces of plywood, which form a place for hooking and removing the formwork.

It can be removed only after the concrete has become strong enough. Only in this case, the concrete will not be destroyed under the loads that it receives during removal. The drying time of the mixture, depending on the brand, can reach 28 days. However, if the air temperature is below +5 degrees Celsius, the drying time will be doubled. If the temperature is minus during removal, then with this process it is necessary to wait until the frost passes.

Important! The final decision on the removal of the structure must be taken, making sure that the concrete is well seized.

Formwork removal

Formwork dismantling should be done by separate elements, smoothly, without jerks and carefully, to avoid destruction of concrete and construction. In this regard, work with the help of an ax or sledgehammer is strictly prohibited. The structures of large spans are dismantled by a gradual disintegration, that is, the first thing slightly offsets all the wedges, and only after this begins a complete removal.

In the formwork of floors, the bearing structures are first lowered. This process can be simplified using a rack with lowering heads. Sharp hammering of structural elements is prohibited. For the release of large plates, mechanical devices are used, for example, threaded bolts, which are attached to the boards of the structure. You rotate the bolts, and the boards move away from the base, making it easier to dismantle.

Important! Disassembly of the formwork must be carried out in compliance with all safety standards.

If there are columns, walls or consoles, then they must first remove the formwork. And only after this you can disassemble the structure from beams, crosspieces and overlapping. To avoid cracks and deflections on the released floors, auxiliary stands are placed( if the width between the flights is more than eight meters). If the spans are up to eight meters, then it is enough for them to put one auxiliary beam in the middle.

Cleaning and storage of the

structure After dismantling, the entire formwork is cleaned of residues of concrete, wood and other dirt. Do this carefully, for example, with the pressure of water, since manual cleaning can seriously damage the elements. Use the concrete plane only for non-planed boards and panels. Hand tools, such as a grinder or rotating brush, can also be used only for elements with an improved surface.

When disassembling the foundation, all boards must be carefully stored in one place. It should be checked that there are no sticking nails or other protruding elements. This is especially important for lacquered plywood, as when the varnish layer is damaged its protective properties are greatly reduced and the material quickly deteriorates. After cleaning all the elements, if they are planned for further use, they must be dried and lubricated with engine oil. All items must be stored in a dry place protected from surplus moisture.

Note! If the formwork elements are stored on the street, they should be placed vertically to minimize their contact with the ground.
