Many people spend at the cottage almost the entire summer season, so the issue of amenities in a country house is extremely important. Do not go, in fact, for big and small need under the bushes. This problem can be solved in different ways - the toilet can be arranged in the house, having built a full-fledged water supply and independent sewage system, it is possible to purchase and install a modern bio-toilet for a summer residence. And you can also build a street toilet made of bricks or boards, which was used by almost all residents of the private sector in the past era - which we are now going to do. Today on our site "House of Dreams" a detailed study of the issue of how to build a toilet in the country with their own hands.
The whole process of building a street cottage toilet can be divided into several main stages - a pit device, the construction of a small house and the construction of a toilet for maximum ease of use. Let's start in order. ..
How to make a pit for a toilet
The construction of a toilet in the country begins with a pit, the device of which is by no means simple. In the process of its creation, it is necessary to provide a lot of details. First, it should quickly leave the liquid, and secondly, all typical odors in this institution should not spread either inside the toilet or outside. Thirdly, the pit just has to serve as long as possible. But about everything in order, and first dig a pit with a minimum size of one and a half to one and a half meters and a depth of at least 2 m - after all we are building a serious toilet in the dacha with our own hands, capable of serving more than a dozen years.
At the next stage of construction of a summer cottage, it is necessary to refine the pit, thus preventing the shedding and subsidence of the soil around it. Suitable for the cheapest brick - you can used or even fight. The task is not only to prevent soil shedding, but also to ensure the rapid absorption of liquids into the soil. To do this, all the masonry, except for the top five rows, must be done in staggered order - with such brickwork between the individual bricks, there is an empty space through which liquid is absorbed into the ground. The thickness of this masonry is allowed in half a brick - no longer needed.
Having finished with the brickwork, it remains only to seal the hole correctly - this will require a powerful corner( minimum 100mm), reinforcement, paneling material for formwork and concrete. At this stage of work, three things should be taken care of - street toilets for dachas, or rather their pits, should be equipped with ventilation, a hole for pumping out the contents of the toilet and a direct opening for connecting the toilet. It is these three holes that need to be cut in the shield material of the OSB type.
A very important point is the correct location of these holes - the vent and the hole for pumping feces should be located outside the future toilet house, but the hole for installing the toilet seat or the seat( or whatever you think up) is better placed in the center of the house as close as possible to the opposite fromentrance to the wall.
We lay the cut-out shield on the hole, we insert plastic sewer pipes into the holes( for the ventilation and toilet we use pipes ø100mm, but for pumping out the faeces it is better to use pipes ø150mm), we collect the frame from the armature, expose the rectangular formwork and fill it with concrete.
When approaching the question of how to make a toilet in the country, one should understand the importance of this stage of work - a reliable basis over such a "precipice" should inspire confidence in you tomorrow. Therefore, the thickness of the concrete above the pit should not be less than 200mm.
Concrete should be left alone for at least a week - during this time it will dry, gain strength and will be ready for further work.
How to build a lodge of a street toilet
Here there are several options for solving the problem - to build a house can be made of bricks, wood or buy already ready and just put it on an existing pit. We sweep off the ready-made summer toilet for the dacha at once - it's expensive, but a wooden or brick toilet made by one's own hands is inexpensive, and the process of its construction is quite interesting. That's what we're gonna do. And start, perhaps, with a brick.
The brick toilet in the dacha is easy to build, if, of course, you have the necessary knowledge and skills to lay bricks. Although, by and large, this process is simple - the main thing to do the correct dressing and observe the level of packing. Even if the stitches turn out ugly, the walls can always be plastered.
The brick toilet has many advantages: firstly, there are no drafts; secondly, it is durable and, thirdly, it is easier to tile this toilet with tiles, making it, therefore, beautiful and neat inside. This toilet is easily cleaned using an ordinary watering hose.
Wooden toilet for the dacha to build a little more difficult, and its durability is not necessary even when using all kinds of impregnations for wood. If you resort to the help of wooden products, it is better to use OSB sheets - they are well protected from moisture, and their integrity will prevent the appearance of drafts.
It is built simply - the walls and roof of this toilet is collected on the floor. Using wooden beams as stiffeners, and sheet material as outer and inner skin, shields are created, which are then assembled into a single structure. All the charm of this method of construction is that between the outer and inner lining you can lay a heater, which will make it possible to use this toilet even in winter.
Finishing the toilet
At the final stage of the construction of the toilet, it remains to do a little - the internal design of the toilet in the dacha will make it a comfortable and pleasant visit. If desired, the interior space can be covered with tiles or plastered and simply painted, installed a toilet, drowned with a special lid for pumping feces and raised the ventilation pipe. If desired, you can even adjust the drainage of water from the toilet. It's quite simple - a tank with water is installed on the toilet roof, which is connected to the toilet bowl by the pipeline. Such a full-fledged drainage system will not only add convenience to the use of the toilet, but will completely reduce the appearance of all unpleasant odors.
Ready-made toilets for dacha
It is the simplest solution to this problem to buy and install a ready-made toilet. Modern industry produces both plastic toilets for dachas, and metal collapsible constructions of this type, and well-known biotoilets. All these designs are installed simply, but they have one drawback - they need to be monitored. Their capacity to collect waste of human life is small and pumped out each season. If you have to resort to the help of finished products, it is better to buy a prefabricated toilet for a dacha and install it on a well-made pit.
In general, the question of what kind of toilet is better for a dacha is put incorrectly - it would be more logical to ask which one is more practical and needs less care. And under these requirements are simple designs made of wood or brick, and having a large storage pit. As a rule, such country cottages serve not one ten years.
That, in principle, that's all. In fact, the question of how to build a toilet in the dacha with your own hands is not difficult, the more important point in this matter is how to make it practical and durable.
