Materials for the shoe shelf in the hall

The shoe shelf must be functional and small, as in the small hallway the large structure will be inappropriate. From the set of available materials we choose a tree that is convenient in processing, affordable and environmentally friendly. Shelf for shoes, as well as a hanging shelf in the hallway, is made in a simple way. For this we will need tools :

  • plane;
  • saw;
  • screwdriver;
  • hammer;
  • abrasive paper.

Plus to the tools you will need to acquire materials :

  • 6 blocks of wood, the cross section of which is 16 x 40 mm, and the length is 220 cm;
  • universal screws, the diameter of which is 3 mm, and the length is 25 mm;
  • self-tapping screws for woodworking;
  • varnish for wood.

Work process

We will begin work with the side elements for the shelf, the so-called sidewalls. The depth of the shelf should be 33 cm, which is quite enough for any size of shoes. Accordingly, we cut 6 identical blanks to 33 cm. Further on one of the blanks, we evenly distribute 4 blocks and we make a wash on the depth of the bars. For convenience, the width of each shelf is 62 cm, so that on each of them fit 3 pairs of shoes. For each shelf, you need to cut 4 workpieces of a given length. Further, into the already cut embankments of the sidewalls, you need to insert the finished billets and fasten the structure with screws. We repeat this operation for each of the shelves. Then sandpaper should be sanded and rounded off the top parts of the side walls.

The height of the entire structure will be 80 cm, while the lower shelf will be installed at a height of 25 cm from the floor, so that there is enough room for high boots at the bottom. To make racks, you need a bar, the length of which is 80 cm, cut down the thickness and depth of the beam( 16 mm) and do this at intervals of 25 cm. At the top, leave 10 cm for the top of the structure. It is necessary to make 4 such racks and then insert ready-made shelves into the cut-off areas. Using the same parts and technology, you can also make a wall shelf in the hallway.

From the material that remains, we make the top of the design, for which you need to cut 2 pieces, 33 cm long. The top of the already cut out blanks, we clean it with sandpaper before forming a rounding. When all the details of the construction are ready, they will need to be treated with sandpaper, and if possible, it is better to use a grinder. Already polished construction should be covered with two layers of varnish. All the details of the construction must be fastened with screws, for which you need 4 screws for each of the shelves and 2 for the top. Having made simple actions, the shelf under shoes in the hallway is ready.

With this simple method, you can also make a corner shelf in the hallway. Below, see the photo of the shelves under the shoes for the hallway.
