Painting boots
It's not the first time we notice how different designers of fashionable clothes are trying to revive fashion on felt boots. Needless to say, in our climate this is a very comfortable and practical footwear. It's not for nothing that a special corner for this type of footwear is given away in the shoes shops. But you can save a little - buy simple boots and make exclusive and fashionable shoes on your own.
What are the felt boots? Absolutely any, but still preferably previously not colored. Therefore, how to repaint a color is much more difficult than painting for the first time. The reason for this is the fouled paint of the previous layer, because of it the new paint can last very long on shoes.
The next question is how to paint. Suitable types of paints, namely:
- Paint for hair.
- Acrylic paint for fabric.
- Special dye for wool.
- Markers for fabric.
Boots and hair dye
In order to repaint felt felt boots, you can take any hair dye and dilute it in cool water. Next, lightly soak the felt and allow the moisture to absorb. After that, gently apply a paint in several layers with a soft brush. Between the application of the layers, small breaks should be made, so that the previous one has a little time to soak in, but one should not allow complete drying. After painting, the boots should be given a couple of days to completely absorb the paint.
This method is quite simple, but it has its drawbacks. The paint eventually wipes out of the coat and the color may fade. If it is not possible to completely dry the felt boots in front of the toe, it is possible to paint the surrounding surfaces through direct contact.
Acrylic paint for fabric
It is best to take special paints for wool or batik. Instructions for their use are usually exhaustive - how to plant, apply and dry. You can only add that it is better to take a sponge softer and apply more slowly, so that the material has managed to soak properly. Valenki should be left for 1-2 days, after which it is worth ironing( very carefully!) With a medium-heated iron to melt the top coat of paint. This will protect it from scraping when using the product.
Dye for wool
You can take, for example, aniline dye for wool. Since felt requires an acidic medium, it is better to add vinegar to this dye. Total with assistants get the following list:
- aniline dye;
- table vinegar;
- glasses( for dye dilution, can be plastic);
- rubber gloves;
- sponge;
- plastic bags.
Pour the coloring powder into the glass so that at least cover the bottom. Pour a little boiling water, stir well until the paint dissolves completely. Add a tablespoon of vinegar and add hot water to a full glass. Better to lay the package on the work surface, so as not to stain the paint all around. Then apply the paint to the felt with a sponge. You can pour a little directly from the glass, then quickly rub the sponge over the entire outer surface. After the whole surface is covered with paint, it is recommended to tightly seal the felt boots in several packages, letting out air at the maximum, put in a pan of cold water and boil for 40 minutes. After cooling and drying boots( as well as in other cases - a couple of days), you should wash the felt boots in cool water to remove excess paint, which is not absorbed.
Additional patterns can be applied to colored felt boots( by any of the above methods) by special markers for the fabric.
