Construction, repair, some installation work - regularly have to face the need for alignment, more reliable fixation of individual structural elements. Plastic mounting wedges, unfortunately, have not yet found wide application in everyday life, although in any case they are simply irreplaceable.
The main reason for their inadequate demand for "private traders" is the weak awareness of customers about these products. The author considers it necessary to fill this gap.

In practice, self-made "chocks" made of wood are used as spacing wedges, and only in rare cases - metal. Disadvantages of any "tree" are known - susceptibility to drying out, absorption of moisture, low strength and the like, up to destruction by insects-woodworms. And if you still take into account how much time you have to spend searching for a suitable piece of wood from which you can cut out( sample) a sample of the appropriate size, the conclusion is obvious - not quite convenient and practical.
But this is not the main thing. During the operation of any design, wedges from wood are gradually deformed, and problems arise after a certain time. For example, skewed window frames or doorways. As a result - unplanned repairs.
Plastic mounting wedges of all these drawbacks are stripped. There is no water absorption, they are not interesting for insects, and changes in temperature are inert, since special polymers are used in production. And importantly, they do not slip on the basis with which they contact.
Hence, in the course of operation, any movement at the installation site of the wedges is excluded - the fixation is absolutely reliable. This is provided by the system of "denticles", which are applied to the plastic at an angle, from both sides of the product. As a rule, the standard interval between them is 0.5 mm.
There are slots all the way through the wedges. Consequently, due to these "air chambers", freezing at the installation point of this device is excluded.

Small( 91 - 43 - 15) - as a rule, they are used for the initial installation of something and are needed only for a small adjustment of structural elements. Most often used for finishing finishing floors of boards of parquet or laminate. - Medium( 115 - 30 - 19) - it is advisable to use when laying logs, installing window frames. Such wedges are designed for a maximum load of 1,650-1,850 kg, so they can withstand the weight of even door blocks.
- Large( 143 - 43 - 22) - products of this variety are used for large-scale works, when one has to deal with large-sized, massive structural elements. For example, thick lags, parts of the rafter system, window blocks of large sizes. Such wedges can withstand up to 2,200 kg.
The use of wedges
Where they may be needed, a good master will figure it out for himself. Here are just some examples of using plastic wedges.
- Alignment: blocks( window, door) in the apertures, log when installing rough floors, rafter system elements and the like.
- Installation of light stationary stairs.
- Repair of deformed parts of structures.
Cost of mounting wedges
It's easy to guess that it depends on the size of the products and the manufacturer. But since the wedge material is plastic, the price by definition can not be high and lies in the range 3.5 - 8.5 rubles / unit. The number of samples in the package is different - from 200 pieces for large to 700 for small.
This information is enough to understand - the use of such spacer devices is more than advisable. The cost of plastic wedges will not affect the final cost of the work, but they will increase the speed of individual technological operations and the accuracy of alignment.
