As during the construction itself, and in the further decoration and operation of any building, something has to be attached to its walls - engineering communications, household appliances, furniture items and the like. This process of "chiselling - drilling" is familiar to every man. There are quite a few ways to fix different products on surfaces, and naturally, a variety of fasteners are used for this.
But when it comes to the structures of foam blocks, there are certain difficulties. The reason is the high porosity of this cellular concrete, which does not allow working with any fasteners. By the way, specialists consider such a characteristic of foam concrete one of its "minuses".And at the same time it is such a popular material for budgetary construction that many people work with it. How to be?
In order to securely fix anything on the foam block, you need to use only special dowels for foam concrete. They are made of either metal or plastic( most often nylon). In the material they can be "driven" in two ways - by screwing or "landing" into the pre-drilled hole.
Metal
Used when an increased load on the fastener is provided or if it is stipulated by fire protection requirements. On the "body" there are spacer segments( 4 pieces), providing a rigid fixation in the place of installation. On the outer side of many dowels are placed special protrusions( teeth), which provide a more reliable "coupling" with the material of the wall.
Plastic
It is considered universal, since it is used everywhere if the "attachable" structure does not have too much weight or will not be subjected to excessive mechanical stress. In everyday life, dowels with a diameter of 4 to 12 mm are most often used. In them, you can screw almost any hardware - a screw, a screw, a screwdriver.
Products that are installed screwed into the foam concrete, have a characteristic carving on the surface. The length of all dowels lies in the range from 3 to 6 cm. In the sale come or in packages( 20, 25, 50, 100 pieces), or "loose" and sold individually.
If we talk about the cost of dowels, then the cheapest, of course, nylon. Such products are usually on sale, usually in sets, in their original packaging. The price depends on two parameters - length and diameter. But for each region it still establishes its own.
For example, products "Sormat" will cost 160 rubles / pack.(4 or 6 mm -25 pcs.).The same 8 mm dowels are sold for 250 rubles / pack, for 10 mm - for 490 rubles per pack.
Metal products are more expensive. Diameter 6 mm - about 1,250 rubles, 8 mm - 1,580 rubles, 10 mm - 1,790 rubles( packs of 25 pieces).
Separately it is necessary to tell about such kind of production, as djubel-"a nail".It is not used often, as it is suitable for fastening objects only on blocks with high density. On average, their cost is from 75 rubles( packing 50 pieces).
Advice for choosing
- Arrangement of ventilating facade, exterior finish - for such work it is recommended to use metal dowels. For example, professional fasteners of the brand "SHR".
- The dowel - "nail" is used only for placing relatively light objects - a picture, a wall lamp and the like.
- For fastening of massive products or under heavy load it is worth to purchase an anchor type "GB".The dowel in such cases is less reliable.
In other cases, it is sufficient to use plastic products.
