Installation of a new cartridge consists of the following stages:

• overlapping and draining the water;
• removal of the crane from the sink;
• removal of the decorative plug using a screwdriver;
• screw-out;
• release lever;
• Removing the cartridge, installing a new one;
• crane assembly.

The screw located behind the decorative plug must be unscrewed on the main body. The lever and the cap must be removed and then the cartridge must be removed.

Then the washer-cam is unscrewed with a wrench to check the cartridge for breakage.

Inspect the springs that support the rubber seals. If they are damaged, then replacement parts are required.

And if the space between the ball and the valve seat is clogged, the cartridge is replaced with a new one.

How to repair two-valve cranes?

Despite the various innovations, two-valve cranes are still very popular in the kitchen.

The device of two-valve devices can be of two types: with a worm gear and with a tap-changer with ceramic discs.

The latter type in the kitchen is more reliable, therefore repairs are rarely required.

If there is a leakage of a crane with a worm, the main reason for this is a worn gasket that closes the inlet. To change it is required on a lining from thick rubber.

The repair of the mixer starts with the dismantling of the faucet. Therefore, first of all, the valve body is twisted, turning it counter-clockwise.

The cartridge is made of bimetallic wafers or consists of wax. When the temperature changes, the cartridge either expands or contracts. The temperature is set by the adjusting screw or knob.

A fuse is installed on the adjusting screw to prevent water heating above 80 °.When the cold water is turned off, the unit automatically blocks the hot supply.

When the supply resumes, mixing of hot and cold water continues. So the device with a thermostat eliminates burns.
