The Hundertwasser House in Vienna( Hundertwasser Haus) seems to some to be too eccentric, some will blame him for lack of taste, but most people who are at his entrance will simply admire the genius of the architect.

Extravagant Friedrich Stostasser changed his real name at the age of about twenty years to Friedensreich Hundertwasser. One can only imagine what projects were born in his creative head.

Windows The Hundertwasser houses are located on different levels and there are no two similar to each other. Floors in common areas are not even and resemble a tuberous soil. On the roof and balconies of this house, already many years ago, trees and bushes( more than two hundred in all) are rooted and growing. Even instead of some windows special niches are equipped, in which trees are also planted. For planting the house, during its construction, 900 tons of land were delivered.

Different apartments on the side of the facade are painted with brightly colored paints and you can immediately determine where and what apartment is located.

Next to this address are several other buildings of similar architecture built by the Hundertwasser. In one of them, at Weisgerberstrasse 13, there is an exhibition hall and the Vienna House of Arts( KunstHaus Wien), in the other - a whole shopping center with souvenir shops and cafes. This complex of buildings the Austrians call the "village of Hundertwasser".The interior is absolutely in harmony with the exterior decoration of houses.

Even a public toilet in one of the buildings is the fruit of the artist's creation. Its walls are decorated with an original mosaic of tile.

The peculiarity of all buildings of the Hundertwasser is that their facades are built with the predominance of winding lines, painted in different colors and decorated with broken ceramic tiles( which is very similar to the style of the structures of Antonio Gaudi).Some walls are lined with empty glass bottles, the roofs are decorated with bright domed onions.

Tourists are always pleasant to stroll along the streets, next to bright, gingerbread houses, and get a lot of positive emotions. After acquaintance with Hundertwasser architecture, the classical imperial Vienna is perceived quite differently.
