Connecting a warm floor to a thermoregulator is usually a simple process, but additional instruction and video will not harm, especially if you are doing this for the first time.
The scheme of installation of a warm floor with a thermoregulator is much easier than other types of floors, for example, water.
The most important thing when connecting the system is to correctly place the heating elements. After that, you only need to connect the floor to the thermostat.
From the article you will learn step-by-step technology how to do it, as well as videos, instructions and schemes that will help you to install the system yourself and save on attracting specialists.
Types of heated floors
The installation of the system and the connection of the thermostat will differ slightly depending on the type of floor you have installed.
Therefore, first we'll talk about what they are, and what gender to choose to work with it was the easiest.

The device of the water floor can be found in Russian houses quite often. This type of floor heating is a modern type of radiator heating system.
The popularity of the water floor can be explained by its economy - after installing this system you will save 10% or more heat resources per month.
The temperature of the water floor heating is slightly lower than in the main radiators, and therefore will cost you less.
For such a floor the thermostat is not needed, becauseit is connected to a centralized heating system, and operates independently of it.
The most common type of floor heating is electric. It, unlike water, works with the help of temperature regulators and is divided into several subtypes: cable, rod and film.
The way of heating electric floors of different types differs: it can be heated by means of infrared radiation or have a convection heating method.
With a film device of a warm floor, its surface is covered with a special film material provided with a heating element.
For the laying of the material, there is no need for a cement screed - it can be spread directly to the rough surface of the floor.
This will make the installation of the system yourself much easier, and also save on additional materials, such as mortar and tools for creating floor screeds.
Such a warm floor can be placed under any floor covering - parquet, linoleum or laminate.
However, if you decide to cover the floor with natural wood, it's best to ensure that the floor heating temperature is not higher than 28 degrees, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the coating.
The film for this floor can be carbon or equipped with bimetallic heaters.
The latter type is heated more strongly, and usually consists of two heterogeneous layers: the first is made of an aluminum alloy, the second is made of an alloy of copper and other additional elements.
The composition of the carbon film includes copper, lavsan and carbon elements.
Such films are sold in rolls to install them on the floor with their own hands do not need to have any specific tools or skills - the material is easily cut, so you can adjust it to the features of your floor.
Another way of coating is pivot. In its composition, it has flexible carbon rods, which are laid in a cement screed, or fixed to a tile glue, thus forming something like mats on the rough floor.
This type of underfloor can also be placed under any floor covering, including carpet and tile, which is not recommended on top of the film floors.
The last variant of warm floors is cable. The floor is heated by cable elements, and is available in the form of rolls equipped with heating sections, or in the form of a conventional cable bay.
At the base of the cable floor are two-core or single-core cables - in their technological properties they are identical, and differ only in the manner of installation.
For each type of underfloor heating, except for water, a thermostat is required. How to install it you will find out below.
Mounting the thermostat for underfloor heating
Before you decide to install the device, you need to choose where it will be located, and also choose which device is best to purchase.
All the thermostats are designed in the same way and are needed in order to properly operate the underfloor heating system and maintain the optimum room air temperature.
You can choose any device - from the most usual mechanical, to the so-called intelligent device, it all depends on your financial capabilities and wishes.
The connection scheme of the thermostat to the floor can be of two types: in the first case the thermostat is connected from a stationary electrical board, and in the second one - by means of an outlet.

The most common connection scheme of the thermostat is located on the body of the structure - it will greatly help you in your work, and help you to do everything yourself.
After installing the thermostat, you need to bring the phase to the junction box, and also make a ground and a zero.
To make the system work properly, you need to make a groove in the wall in which you place two plastic tubes.
The first is needed to put the power cable of the heating cable into it, the second one - to place the wiring from the sensor( the sensor itself will be placed under the floor).
Try to ensure that the installation scheme is observed accurately. After that, you should install and connect the system.
Before starting the connection of the warm floor, you need to carefully level the surface, and place a damper tape along the wall, as well as a heat-insulating layer.
In case you make a warm floor in an apartment or on the second floor of a private house, you can mount the cable directly into the rough floor.
Before laying it, it is necessary to stretch the power wires to the thermoregulator box so that the coupling for coupling is inside the concrete screed.

The scheme of installation and connection of the warm floor is as follows: first you need to lay the mounting tape( on the very rough floor or the heat-insulating layer, depending on what is under the floor), which will fix the cable.
It is best to lay the tape with a snake to prevent further crossing of the cable, and also to equip it with special fasteners that will help in the uniform installation of the conductor.
After laying the cable and checking the correctness of its position, you need to install the sensor: it is placed in a special plastic tube( we talked about it earlier).
The final stage of installation is the evaluation of its quality.
To do this, use a tester - if it shows the resistance of the cable according to the value indicated in the thermoregulator's passport, then you have done everything right and you can fill the screed.
Connection of a warm floor is possible only after the screed has completely dried and hardened. After drying to the screed, you need to connect the power from the sensor, the heating sections and the wiring.
This is the most difficult part of the job.
In your own hands, you can help scheme and video, however, if you are not sure of your abilities, then it is better to entrust this work to a professional, because if it is performed incorrectly, the entire system will not be able to work.
Next comes the direct connection of the floor - it's easy.

The connection scheme for a heated floor equipped with heating mats is the same as for the installation of another cable system, with the exception of a couple of differences: do not use an insulating layer;this will lead to overheating of this type of floor heating.
The entire system should be located on the rough concrete floor, after placement it is poured with a screed or tile glue, and then simply covered with a finishing material.
As you can see, installing a thermostat for a warm floor is not an easy matter, especially when there is an instruction and a scheme that will help to do all the work correctly and save money on attracting specialists.
