Modern industry today offers a homeowner a variety of options for heating their home, from which it is not so easy to choose the most suitable and profitable for energy-consuming characteristics. Nevertheless, the choice in favor of the most modern heating technologies is almost always justified, since all technologies developed in our time are characterized by low energy consumption and high heating capacity, that is, high efficiency. One of such technologies will be infrared warm( film) floor, about the installation of which under the tile, today we will talk.
Advantages of infrared film floor
Infrared warm floor has the following characteristics:
- more than 90% of radiation falls at a wavelength of 5 to 20 μm, which freely passes through the tile and screed, heating not only the room but also the human body;
- temperature with heating by infrared radiation is 4-5 degrees lower than with traditional heating, while the person feels just as comfortable;
- warming up the room is improved due to the secondary convection of already heated objects;
- the air in the room will be clean and fresh;
- increases the concentration of negatively charged ions in the room by 4 times;
- no noise, dust, vibration and odor;
- minimum electromagnetic radiation.
What, with the advantages of the proposed method of heating, we have decided, and now turn to the details of installing a warm floor under the tile.
How to install the infrared warm floor
For installation under tile we will need the following materials:
- set of infrared film floor;
- heat reflecting material;
- mesh that does not conduct electrical current;
- wires;
- directly ceramic tiles;
- adhesive for tiles.
To begin with, as usual we prepare the floor for laying all layers of the warm floor: we check it for the absence of unevenness, clean and dry. Then you need to determine the location of the thermostat - the control panel for the temperature of our underfloor heating.
The first layer is laid heat-reflecting material, then on top of it we lay the warm floor - the infrared film. This stage of work should be done with the utmost care, so as not to damage the thin film. After that we connect among ourselves sheets of infrared film, and then the whole set to the thermoregulator. Particular attention should be paid to careful isolation of the cutting lines of the film.
The temperature sensor must be installed in a corrugated pipe between the first layer of screed and the second one so that the temperature readings are free of distortion. Now you can mount the thermostat into the wall. Do not rush to lay the next floor layer - first you need to turn on the warm floor in the test mode and check to see if it works. It is better to repair the damage at this stage than to break the tile after the completion of the work. So, everything is in order, the film is heated - we lay the next layer, which will be the mounting mesh.
It is time to fill the primary screed - as a rule it is made of a cement-sand mortar, not very thick. The screed should barely cover the film, otherwise the heating will deteriorate. After completely drying the screed, we will make the last test inclusion of the infrared floor, and proceed directly to laying the tiles.
