But this is not unusual, because your child is just growing. So let his room grow with him.
But we somehow forget about this, dividing our children's growing up into three phases: a kid, a schoolboy, a student. And if we make this mistake, if we do a rearrangement or repair in the children's room, then only when our child goes to school, begins to meet with representatives of the opposite sex or enters the university. All the rest of the time we are quite happy with the fact that an eighth-year-old son or a graduate daughter sleep on the same bed bought for growth and sit at the same table that was bought before his first on September 1.

Force yourself to update the child's room at least once a year. But do it not on the eve of his birthday - psychologists say that birthdays are already too traumatic for the child's psyche, and literally a few days before he goes to school or kindergarten after the summer holidays.
Children are so arranged that their inner sense of the beginning of the year does not coincide with the New Year holidays, but with the beginning of studies, so combine this feeling with the change in the design of the entire children's room. And for this it is not necessary to buy new furniture or rest the floors. Add a few shelves to the existing ones, change the bed frame, making it higher, repaint the old cupboard, remove the doors from it and turn it into a rack. In the end, put in the children's room a small TV so that your child has the opportunity to truly complete solitude, and in fact a teenager simply needs to be alone.
In general, do everything to get older, your child did not live among the dust-covered toys from his long-ago childhood, but saw and felt that his room is changing with him, and you - recognize his right to independence and growing up. Only then will he really consider his room truly his own, and only in this case will he return home with a sense of joy, knowing that he is loved and waiting there.
