The first type is a regular sheet, which has no special advantages. It is used in rooms with humidity up to 70%, such as bedroom, hallway, living room. The second type is fireproof plasterboard.

It has in its composition special reinforcing additives, which allow it to transfer high temperatures. Moisture resistant sheets are the third type that can be used in rooms with high humidity( bath, kitchen, sauna).And the last, the fourth type - is a moisture resistant material with a high fire protection, which absorbed the qualities of the previous two varieties.

Important! Choose material is necessary, focusing on the features of the room, otherwise the design of the partition can be ineffective.

After determining the type of material that is suitable for a particular room, you must select the thickness of the material. The thickness of drywall varies from 6.5 to 24 millimeters. The most widely used sheets have thickness of 12.5, 9.5 and 6.5 millimeters, but the device of plasterboard partitions is usually made of a material 6.5 mm thick.

framework Preparation

technology devices drywall partitions based on the accurate marking the profiles of places that will be mounted on the sheets. In this connection, the first thing to do is marking the position of the partition on the floor. If the room has a large area, then on the floor, you can also mark the location of all vertical profiles and the doorway, if it is planned. Marking with a laser or a simple level is transferred to the ceiling.

The next step is to install the framework for the partition:

  • The profile is cut to the required length;
  • With the help of screws with a step of 60 centimeters are attached profiles;
  • The first vertical profile is put, the height of which should be one centimeter less than the height from floor to ceiling;
  • If you plan to make a doorway, then a horizontal profile is placed on the crossbar;
  • The second vertical profile is placed between the top of the door frame and the top profile.

Note! If heavy objects are to be hung on the partition in the future, it is necessary to mount the reinforcement elements in the frame in the places where they are located.

Drywall Installation is performed in the following order:

  1. sheet is cut to a height equal to the height from floor to ceiling minus one centimeter;
  2. Next, the sheet is pressed against the installed frame. It is necessary to make sure that the edges of the sheet fall on the middle axis of the vertical profile;
  3. With screws the plasterboard is attached to the frame in 25 centimeters increments;
  4. The soundproofing material is laid between vertical profiles. After that, the sheets on the back of the partition are also mounted in the same way. Verify that only one joint of the drywall sheet per vertical profile.

In order for the work to be performed properly, it is necessary to cut the material correctly. For this, a knife and ruler is taken. The ruler is applied along the drawn line, and the cut is made by the knife. The sheet is then placed vertically and bent at the location of the cut. To finish the process, cut the knife with the knife on the other side. Cutting rounds and corners is performed by a hand saw.
