Drywall is the most practical and inexpensive finishing material. With the help of smooth gypsum sheets, it is possible to level the walls, to make decorative elements. This requires a number of simple preparatory work. It must be remembered that the quality of the painting will directly depend on how you treat the preparation of the substrate.
To prepare the drywall for painting you will need:

- roller;
- putty;
- acrylic primer;
- putty knives;
- ribbon-serpyanka;
- sandpaper.
1. First of all, apply acrylic primer to the drywall. It is applied by brush or roller. Apply primer evenly, do not apply too much liquid to the brush. For the next step, be sure to allow the surface to dry completely.
2. Now tap the joints of plasterboard. This is a necessary procedure. Puttying is carried out in several stages: apply the first layer of putty using a band-serpyanka, after its drying, apply the next layer. The procedure is conveniently done with a metal spatula. It is desirable to have spatulas of different sizes.
3. After the joints have completely dried, continue the putty work, leveling the mortar with all irregularities and the places where the sheets are fastened with screws. If necessary, grind the walls with sandpaper or a special grinding belt. Begin the procedure with a larger skin, gradually turning to a finer abrasive. Do not excessively get involved in trowelling, it is important not to damage the coating of drywall sheets. In the end result, you should get a perfectly flat surface.
4. Next, you need to re-finish the surface of gypsum board with a primer. And the treatment should be done in two layers. The surface of the paper layer should be well impregnated with a primer. This stage should be done very carefully, so that the paint is well laid on the surface. Ceilings should be primed against the light. After the coating has completely dried, it is possible to apply paint.
