The next type of electric floor heating element is a thermal mat. In this design, the heating cable is placed on the thermal insulation film at a predetermined pitch.

Finally, the heating element can be a special film emitting infrared rays. Its thickness does not exceed half a millimeter and a flat semiconductor heating strip is mounted in its layer.

You can connect your warm water floor to the main heating. However, this method should be used with a certain attention. Perhaps, the large heat loss of the carrier will lead to the fact that your neighbors will start complaining about the cold. Without damage to neighbors to connect the warm water floor in apartment buildings can be in the premises where the stationary system passes to the reverse flow. Also in this case the water temperature in the heating system will not be too hot.

The big disadvantage of such scheme of connection of water-heated floors will be impossibility of smooth adjustment of the coolant temperature. The diagram shows the following components:

  1. Thermostatic control valve mechanism. The signal for this part is fed from a remote temperature sensor. In the event that the system reaches the set temperature - it closes the supply of heat carrier.
  2. Balancing valve device. It prevents the idle passage of the coolant in the heating circuits. If the coolant supply is cut off, it starts it on a small circle without a boiler.
  3. Circulation pump, providing additional pressure of the heating medium in the heating circuits.
  4. Safety thermostat. It is placed on the inlet pipe of the coolant and monitors the temperature level in the system.
  5. Electric drive of the valve manifold of the water manifold. It is intended for control of valves of heating circuits.
  6. The water collector of the floor heating system, distributing the flow of coolant along the contours.
  7. Pretended water manifold valve( also bypass), circulates coolant through a small circle.
  8. Remote controller for the temperature of the heating medium of the heated floor system There are several installed in the system, which allows you to individually adjust the temperature in each room equipped with heated underfloor heating.

Another option for connecting a heated water floor can be the use of a hydraulic separator. It is a specialized reservoir in which the heat carrier is accumulated. Typically, this capacity is mounted in a collector cabinet in a special wall niche.

An important point in connecting a heated floor with a liquid heat carrier is the installation of a water collector. To it all contours of heating system are deduced, thus temperature and working pressure of the heat-carrier in each contour can be adjusted individually.

When drawing up the scheme for connecting a heated water floor, it is also necessary to calculate the location of the heating circuits. Obviously, they should not be in the places where stationary equipment will be located in the room.

There are two main circuits for connecting the heating circuits of the water floor: they are "snake" and "snail"( or "spiral").In regions with a cold climate, it is recommended to use a "spiral" connection scheme, since in this case the whole room will be heated fairly evenly and the floor surface will not experience strong temperature deformations.

The heated floor system can be used as an independent heating system, or in combination with traditional radiators. With this connection scheme, first the heating radiators are connected to the heating medium flow, and then, on the return flow, the coolant passes through the floor heating circuits.
