Foamblocks can be manufactured in two ways: injection molding and sawing .The injection method is very similar to the traditional production of concrete products. That is, the solution is poured into a special shape, dried and removed from there as a finished product. Most often for this technology, iron cassette forms are used. They are a kind of pallets with partitions inside and removable sides. Partitions are necessary in order to divide the form into sections.
This method has a number of drawbacks. Often, different sizes and proportions are obtained, taken from the shape of the blocks. The sawing method has more advantages. Foam concrete is cast in special large forms, then it is cut and cut to the appropriate dimensions. Thus, the blocks have a clear geometry and exact dimensions. Also, the material can be manufactured to the size required by the customer. A huge plus is also the fact that the plastering of walls made of foam concrete produced by this method is much faster. Reduced labor costs and financial costs.

The solution for plastering walls is applied differently depending on the type of foam blocks( their manufacture).For example, the material produced by the injection molding method is important first to clean and coat, so that the plaster "grapples" well with the surface. The material made by the sawing method has a slightly rough foundation and therefore, the plaster easily "sticks" to the surface. Plus, for those and other blocks it is important that a special facade plaster with a high level of adhesion( about it below) is used.
For better adhesion, reinforcing mesh can also be used. Plaster walls must be made in accordance with the general rules. However, the surface must be primed beforehand. The thickness of the outer layer should be - no more than 1 centimeter, internal - no more than 2 centimeters. What is the feature of plaster for foam blocks?
As already mentioned, for concrete blocks must be selected special plaster, which will have a number of parameters. What are these parameters? Let us list them below.
- Have a high level of elasticity.
- Good adhesion.
- Water vapor permeability.
- Frost resistance.
- Water resistance.
In particular, the adhesion index should be checked. Better yet, consult with a specialist, as a non-quality material can lead to a number of problems in the future( the appearance of cracks, "swelling," peeling off the coating and others).
