How to paint a tree photo Painting with lacquer, colored paint doors and any wooden surfaces.

Wooden floor, doors, windows - all of them periodically require repair and painting. Instead of calling the master every time, you can prepare for this work and do it yourself.

To paint a tree you need:

- Material for painting;
- brush;
- putty;
- primer;
- spatula;
- building hair dryer / chemical cleaner;
- sandpaper.

1. Select the material to be painted. In the market there are many kinds of paints for wood of different shades, degree of transparency and gloss. Select the material for the coating, depending on the type of wood and the design of the room.

For all types of wood( including resin), oil enamels are suitable. They well cover rough surfaces, as these enamels are characterized by high wear resistance.

For cosmetic repairs, use acrylic enamels. They are water-soluble and less durable than oil. They do not have such a pronounced brilliance. Acrylic enamels quickly dry and suitable for all types of wood( except tarry).

To obtain a transparent coating, use lacquers - oily or water-based polyurethane varnishes. The first are more wear-resistant, but the water-emulsion quickly dry out. Varnishes can also be tinted, with the addition of stains.

2. Prepare the inventory for painting. Choose a brush. If you mean working with small parts, stock up with small brushes. To polish the surface you will need sandpaper, preferably finely dispersed.

3. Before painting the wood, prepare the surface. If it already has one or more layers of paint, which departs and does not hold well, it is better to take care of it. To do this, use a building hair dryer - under its influence, the old paint will exfoliate, remove it with a spatula.

4. Instead of a hair dryer, you can use chemical cleaners( washes and disintegrants).After the chemical cleaner, wipe the tree with vinegar and clean water to neutralize the formed alkali. If the old layer of paint is relatively flat and firmly holds, you can do by sanding. Then remove the dust from the surface - wipe with a lint-free cloth.

5. Often wooden surfaces require puttying. In order for the paint to lie flat, repair defects, scratches and holes, if any. Use the putty, smooth it carefully, so that there is no need for sanding afterwards. It is better to take a thin brush. Keep in mind - when the putty hardens, you can no longer perfectly align it.

6. To seal large holes, use a construction foam - you can cut the excess with a knife, when the foam hardens. If there are small irregularities, sand the surface with sandpaper. Cover the putty with linseed oil before painting, to avoid the appearance of cracks.

7. Directly before painting, you can prime the surface( although this is not necessary).Primer is desirable, especially when the surface is uneven. Primer is an impregnating material that forms a homogeneous film on the surface. It closes the pores, glues the dust, reduces the consumption of varnishes and paints, extends the life of the wood. Apply the primer in one coat and wait at least two hours before painting.

8. Start painting. Brush several vertical strips along the tree, each time dipping it again into the paint. Spread the paint over the surface. So paint it all.

Useful tips

To protect yourself, wear a respirator and gloves, especially when working with a construction hair dryer and chemical cleaners.

Get started in the morning, with good lighting.
