Installation of door phone
Installation of a doorphone in the entrance of an apartment building is carried out by employees of a specialized company, by agreement with all residents in this entrance. But if you are the owner of your own house, installing a doorphone with your own hands will help save a decent amount and allow you to implement your own technical solutions.
In this article you will learn about the types of intercoms, their advantages and disadvantages. Below you will be given detailed instructions for installing the door phone and given all the necessary recommendations for independent work.
What is the intercom
All the intercoms are divided into two groups:
- Audio doorphones
- Video intercoms
Any intercom can be considered one of the elements of home security, since the door is always locked, and it can only be opened from within. A person who has an electronic access key can open the door from the outside.
Video door phone is a device equipped with a video camera. Installing a doorphone with your own hands is not so difficult a process as it may seem at first glance. Let's start with the acquisition of a door phone.
We choose an intercom
Audio doorphones on private houses practically do not put, as often it is important not only to hear the visitor's voice, but also to look at the surrounding situation, so we will choose a video intercom. Such a system can be installed on a private house or equipped with a video intercom apartment in the entrance of an apartment building. Any video intercom consists of the following parts:
- Call panel .In many models, combined with a video camera
- Monitor , combined with handset and control buttons
- Electromagnetic or electromechanical lock .
- Power supply
The external panel includes a "Call" button, a microphone, a speaker and a video camera. Optimal version of the calling panel means infrared illumination, completely invisible, but ensuring the camera's operation in total darkness in a radius of at least 1 meter and the camcorder itself, made with anti-vandal "pinhole" technology - a needle eye, in which the lens opening of the camera is less than 1 mm, which makesits practically invulnerable.
The monitor can be color or black and white. Black and white monitors are manufactured using CRT technology and have high durability and low cost. More modern color LCD systems made on liquid crystals are much more expensive. A handset is installed on the monitor case for communication.
In modern models, the power supply is made by a pulse circuit and placed in the monitor case. Electromagnetic lock, keeps the door in the closed state with a strong electromagnet and if the system is de-energized, the door will open. The electromechanical lock consists of a gate connected to a solenoid and if the network is disconnected, the lock will remain in the closed state.
Installing a doorphone with your own hands
For more security, you can equip a video intercom with an apartment in the entrance of an apartment building. This can be done in two ways: install a video camera on a common access door or mount a panel with a video camera on the apartment door.
With the first method, the most difficult thing is installing the camcorder. We proceed from the fact that your apartment is connected to a common intercom and you have audio communication, a lock control button and enough video cameras with a monitor to get a personal video intercom.
Let's say we use a video camera built in the calling panel that is purchased with the monitor. You do not need to purchase an electronic lock, because it already exists.
We begin our work by purchasing the right amount of cable. To connect the camcorder, it's best to use a twisted-pair cable in a screen like FTP 4 X 2 X 0.5-5e.
Drill in the hallway holes for the dowels to install the monitor and an opening on the stairwell for the output of the wire, which will go to the camera. In each entrance there is a vertical shaft, where television, telephone and interphone wires pass.
From the outlet hole to the shaft we drill the holes for the dowels and install the cable channel on the screws.
With the help of a weigher we lower our wire into the shaft to the first floor. From the exit point of the wire from the shaft to the door, we also lay the cable channel.
At the entrance door, next to the doorphone panel, drill holes for attaching the call panel and a central hole for the power wire and the video signal line.
We connect wires according to the scheme and we turn the panel on the door. We close the cable channel, remove the excess wires in the mine.
Pave the wire from the mine to the apartment, connect it to the monitor, and the power supply to the network. The video intercom is ready for use.
The drawback of this method, for all its simplicity, is the presence of two blocks in the apartment, but if you have experience, it's quite simple to connect the communication line and lock control to the monitor unit, and remove all unnecessary ones.
Installation of a doorphone with its own hands implies the use of a separate video camera, which can be placed in a vandal-proof housing and installed in any place that provides a good overview.
By the same principle, the installation of a personal video intercom directly to the door of your apartment in addition to the general access door phone. The only difference is that the calling panel is fully connected, including the audio channel. Wires, while using the minimum amount.
Many models of video intercoms, for example, CommaxCDV-35A, allow you to connect to an access door audio door using the interface card.
Installation of a doorphone with your own hands on a private house, located, as a rule, outside the city differs by the choice of the device itself. For private households, the use of video intercoms with several calling panels and additional video cameras connected via a multiplexer is characteristic.
