More recently, the main hood the house had a window. But a modern kitchen cannot exist without this important household appliance. Since every cooking process is accompanied by clouds of steam, smoke and even soot, it is important to clean the room from unpleasant and unhealthy smoke.
Since the main trend in the design of modern kitchen appliances is to be invisible, we decided to consider models of built-in hoods that are invisible to the eye. What can be hidden should be hidden: in a countertop, ceiling or designer decor. Indeed, with the “disappearance” of technology, any kitchen becomes more spacious. This is especially appreciated in a small area or studio apartment.

Models of hidden hoods
Every time during work hob when cooking, water vapor is released in combination with particles of fat. And often all this is accompanied by strong, not always pleasant smells. If you do not remove polluted air from the kitchen, particles of fat will settle on the surrounding surface: table, walls, suites, furniture and even the ceiling, gradually turning white into yellow. With the advent of hoods, the problem of air purification and circulation has practically disappeared. Manufacturers each time release more advanced and more comfortable, less noticeable and less noisy models - it is easy to get lost in their number. But we will consider 4 models, the main feature of which is invisibility in the literal sense of the word. And let's start with the German company Gaggenau.
Gaggenau Vario 400 AC402181
The German company Gaggenau (Gaggenau), currently part of the Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbH concern, produces premium household appliances: ovens, cooking surfaces, refrigerators, hoods and even built-in coffee equipment. Few people know that the history of the company begins back in 1683, when its founder, Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden, opened his own hammer forge and nail shop. The name of the organization Gaggenau comes from the town where the margrave lived and worked.
Ludwig Wilhelm began to produce kitchen appliances only in 1948. After the Second World War, most of the factories were destroyed, and building new ones, the range of household appliances was expanded and improved. Gaggenau picked up on the trend for redesigned models and has been known for its quality and reliability ever since.
An extractor hood built into the ceiling is a great alternative to appliances that hang massively over the hob. And although manufacturers are now producing hinged models of a unique design that hide the air purifier inside themselves, people prefer to hide the device altogether. Most often, a hidden hood, mounted on the ceiling and looking like an ordinary lamp, is used in kitchens with a hob on island.
Let's move on to the model. Invisible hood Vario 400 AC402181, built into the ceiling, suitable for kitchens of any style. Barely audible in operation due to the external installation of the motor, the air purifier does an excellent job of ventilating the room, quickly removing clouds of smoke and the smell of cooking, if the distance from the appliance to the hob is no more than 120 cm. Otherwise, this model will work for the general ventilation of the kitchen.
Taking into account the ceiling height of 3 m, as well as the kitchen area of no more than 30 sq.m, such models can easily cope with the task of exchanging and recirculating air.
The main advantage of the model is that it is literally part of the ceiling, that is, there are no hanging cases and other noticeable elements. This hood cannot be called invisible, but it is unlikely that it will immediately catch the eye of the person who enters the kitchen. Also, the advantages of this technique include the presence of a perimeter grease filter, which can be washed in a dishwasher.
Among the shortcomings, we note the fact that most often the motor is not included in the package of this model - it must be ordered separately. A more detailed description of the model in the table below.

Kuppersbusch DD 9800.0 S
The German company Kuppersbusch (Kupersbusch or Küppersbusch), founded in 1875, initially specialized in coal stoves for the home. She switched to kitchen rubble appliances 20 years later, in 1898, and already in 1907, the whole of Germany learned about Kuppersbusch, which became the largest manufacturer of kitchen goods.
Coopersbusch, part of the Teka group of companies headquartered in Switzerland, manufactures premium appliances known for their high quality, unique design and recognizable personality. The main disadvantage of their products immediately suggests itself - the high cost.
The model we are considering is a touch-controlled countertop hood Kuppersbusch DD 9800.0 S, which is only visible when running. It extends vertically 102 cm from under the countertop behind the hob. The dimensions of hidden equipment and other characteristics are indicated in the table below.
The main functions of the concealed hood are to circulate the air in the room and remove the smoke from cooking. Of the additional functions, we note the presence of an intensive mode, air suction around the perimeter, the presence of a timer and an indicator of filter contamination. The manufacturer gives a guarantee for 12 months.

Induction hob with integrated hood ELICA NikolaTesla BL/A/83
The next considered “invisible” model will not be a classic technique, since it is integrated with the hob. To be inconspicuous, manufacturers have hidden the hood directly into the hob.
The Italian company for the production of kitchen hoods and air cleaners ELICA was founded in 1970. For 50 years, a small factory producing kitchen air cleaners has grown into an international corporation, represented in the largest cities of the world. All household appliances are made of high quality materials: stainless steel, glass ceramics, tempered glass. Reliability and durability is the slogan of the company.
The main advantages of the model Elica NikolaTesla BL/A/83 low noise level and economical power consumption, while the hood has high performance indicators. The equipment includes 4 blocks with ceramic carbon filters, an aluminum grease filter, which can be accessed for cleaning by removing the outer grille. The built-in drain valve guarantees cleanliness and safety in case of liquid leakage during cooking. The model's air purification system can turn on automatically if there is a need to clean the air from burning and odors.
The hood and hob are connected not only physically, but also intellectually. The information received from the burners is processed by the program, after which the hood selects the optimal operating mode. Its NikolaTesla motor creates a wind whirlwind, the speed of which reaches 5 m/s, which makes it easy to “suck in” vapors with a speed of no more than 1 m/s. One question remains: where does the air go? The ventilation duct is connected to the appliances from below under the countertop. It can go directly to the street (if we are talking about a kitchen in a private house) or to a ventilation duct. The main characteristics of Elica NikolaTesla BL / A / 83 are presented in the table.

Design hood Faber Pareo EVO Plus Silver
The standard solution is not for everyone. Designers come to the rescue with their unusual point of view, boundless imagination and great experience. Nowadays, the classic air purifier can be "hidden" in anything. For example, a lamp with soft lighting with a built-in hood will flaunt above the hob. It can also be an inclined model, as in the photo below.
If we are talking about a hob located on an island, then the hood will be island. Its shape can also be designer: from geometric configurations to something cosmic, futuristic. As an example, consider the model Faber Pareo EVO Plus Black.
The Italian company Faber, founded in 1955 by Abramo Galassi and his three partners, quickly captured the national market. Starting with the production of kitchen appliances, the founders expanded their product line, improving it and filling it with new functions. In the period from 1980 to 1987, there is a gradual “capture” of other countries: the company opened branches first in Germany, and then in the USA, Canada and Great Britain. Today, almost every country knows about the Faber company, which produces high-quality and designer hoods of the most popular modifications.
Let's move on to the model. Hood Faber Pareo EVO Plus Black, made only of stainless steel, belongs to the line of island models. It is mounted to the ceiling, and due to the telescopic design, consisting of 3 cylinders of different diameters, it is possible to adjust the suction area in height. With the help of the control panel, as well as the UP&DOWN technology, the asymmetric cylinders are folded, rising to the ceiling in a spiral or falling as close as possible to the work surface.
The hood operates at 4 speeds, one of which is intensive. Thanks to the perimeter suction technology, vapors and other polluted air are removed from the room in a matter of minutes. With the help of the HOUR 24 function, the kitchen is ventilated automatically during the day: the hood turns on once an hour, working inaudibly at minimum speed for 10 minutes. Another feature of the device is the ability to set a timer, after which its work will end. The main characteristics of the model are listed in the table below.
