GOST for the installation of interior doors

In order for the doors to ensure the comfort and safety of the residents of the apartment, it is necessary to install them rely on regulatory documents, such as Construction Norms and Regulations (construction norms and rules) and GOST (state standard). The SNiP contains requirements and recommendations for the installation of interior doors, GOST determines their sizes, technical characteristics and device features.

Requirements for the manufacture of doors in accordance with GOST

Despite the wide variety of design solutions, the production of doors for rooms should not contradict the clear conditions dictated by state standards. There is a whole list of regulatory documents that determine the rules for the manufacture of this type of product.

Characteristics of doors according to GOST

Gosstandart sets the following parameters for these products:

• the height of the product and the door block - nominal values;
• the width of the box and canvas;
• product safety in terms of its environmental friendliness;
• possible ways to decorate the structure;
• materials that are allowed to be used for the manufacture of accessories - door hingeslining and pens.

GOST door structures must comply with the dimensions indicated in the table.

Requirements for the material, design and installation of doors

Full information on production regulations can be obtained from the relevant documents. We list only a few of the requirements related to the installation of doors for rooms.

• When it comes to wood products, the state standard gives clear recommendations regarding the feedstock. The humidity of the wood used in the manufacture of door structures should not exceed 8%, in addition, the permissible moisture fluctuations for wood of different species are indicated.
• A wooden surface should not have knots or other defects. The condition of the places where the fittings will be attached is separately specified: there should not be hidden defects, such as wormholes or tar cavities, which affect the quality of fastening.

• Installation of interior doors involves maintaining a technological gap, which can be equal to 10-15 millimeters. This mounting gap is subsequently filled with foam and closed with a door casing.
• Interior doors must be equipped box, which exceeds the sash size by 3 millimeters on all sides except for the bottom. The lower clearance between the product and the threshold or floor should be at least 10 millimeters.
• Locking mechanisms have different types and methods of fastening, which depend on the operating mode, weight of the structure, and on the size of the opening parts. The location and number of loops also depend on these conditions.
• For plastic constructions, only special mounting hinges and door extensions should be used.

Basic requirements of SNiP for the installation of interior doors

Using SNiP standards allows for the quality installation of any door structure, thanks to which it will be convenient and safe to use. Let's consider the most essential requirements.

The deviation of the door frame of the installed door vertically should not exceed 3 millimeters.

• The fastening of the side frame racks should be carried out at least at two points on both sides, the distance between them can vary within 100 centimeters.
• The door should open towards a larger room. If the door structure is installed between the room and the corridor, it will open towards the room.
• The new door must be installed in such a way that, when opened, it does not block other doorways.
• If the floors in adjacent rooms have different coatings, then a threshold can be set if necessary. The same type of floor does not imply its installation.

Preparatory stage

It includes checking the availability of a passport for the product, which should contain a record of the guarantee. At this stage, it is necessary to inspect the surface of the structure for defects, measure the product to find out if it matches the declared parameters. Before proceeding with the installation, it is necessary to check:

• opening dimensions;
• marking accuracy;
• the correct arrangement of the elements that are intended for fastening parts.

Installation phase

During installation, a technical inspection is carried out, and acts of inspection of hidden works are drawn up. Must be checked:

• gaps between the slopes of the walls and the box for tightness of insulation;
• quality of mounting the frame, as well as gaskets;
• compliance of the finished block to the design position;
• sash fit;
• correct fittings.

Control stage

If the installation services were provided by the construction company, according to the standards, verification is carried out by the master or foreman of the company. The quality of installation is evaluated by the representative of the customer or the owner of the apartment.
