Instructions for the manufacture of carpentry workbenches

When we start repair works or simply wish to equip our house, then we often face a number of problems and obstacles. And if you approach this issue professionally, then you should start with the right equipment of our workplace. And in order to produce all the necessary household work as efficiently as possible, you should first take care of the carpenter's machine.

It's entirely within your power to build a carpenter yourself, because besides the fact that a very useful thing will appear on your farm, it is also a valuable experience, so to speak, advanced training. And if you can do it with a carpenter, then there will be no sense in doubting the success of your future endeavors.

So, let's get to work.

What do we need during the construction process?

To begin with, we will determine that the carpenter's machine is a kind of ordinary table created for the convenience of working with wood. The minimum height for such a machine is about 70 centimeters.

Of course, in the process of work we will need lumber. It is desirable to stock up a planed beam, pre-processed and manufactured in a single size( this requires a thicknesser machine).Thus, it is much easier to construct a framework of a structure - a kind of base for the entire machine, which must have maximum strength. To fix the rigidity, we will need wedge elements, which will be clogged in the corresponding holes on the screeds of the yoke. Such a simple manipulation will allow you, if necessary, to quickly dismantle the structure.

Note that the main condition of any kind of machine is the functionality that should be put forward in the first place with the hand-made workbench. It should be as convenient and easy as possible.

Next, we will describe in stages the entire manufacturing process.

We build the joiner workbench

The first stage.

All jumpers need to be cut into the legs, then fix them with screws or glue. As a cover, we will already have a ready-made canvas with dimensions of 40 to 610 by 1980 millimeters. We note the height of the installation, checking your height.

To the lower jumper we fix the thicknesser. To the surface of the table, press the clamp and cut out the appropriate marks on it, using a saw with fine teeth for this. Where there will be a groove, we make several vertical marks. Remove all unnecessary with a chisel. All this must be done with each of the four legs.

Next, we need to build the workbench itself.

To each leg must be carefully fitted jumpers. To fix these jumpers, you should use screws, the length of which is 6.5 centimeters. Start with the bottom, and upload the upper ones. There is an option and a simpler design, in which no grooves are required, and the jumpers will be directly attached to the legs by means of the same screws. In this case, they should protrude a little at the foot( about one more of their thickness).

The third stage.

Actually, the end frame of the structure is assembled in the same way( as can be judged from the image below).

Fourth stage.

Side frames fix in a horizontal position and install jumpers( we use the same method for their fastening).Each jumper is fixed with three screws.

Next, we clean the frame, making it so that everything - both the edges and the upper jumpers - are on the same level. Then we take two bars, the length of which will be the length between the legs of our construction, one of them is fastened from behind, and the other to the lid. The lid should be placed in such a way that its rear part protrudes beyond 1.2 centimeters. To fix the lid we use clamps.

The fifth stage.

It's the turn of fixing the vice. We measure the vice, remove the lid and make a suitable hole with a jig saw. The bars that will pass in this place must also be sawed. We put the lid back, fixing it with glue( you can use all the same notorious screws) and install the vice( for this you need to make through holes in the lid and bars).Important: under the heads of the screws must be placed washers!

Sixth stage.

At the end, it is possible to install overhead jaws, which are designed to ensure that the workpiece is not damaged during machining. They need to be glued to steel sponges.

The possibility of dismantling

Also I would like to note that in all cases it does not make sense to build a monolithic structure. Often, a person is not corny enough space, so even at the preparatory stage, you should find out whether the workbench will move, or it is installed forever. If it is dismantled, it will take up much less space.
