Choosing a place for building a garage

For a garage, you need to choose a location as close as possible to the exit from the site so that in winter you do not have to clear a large area of ​​snow. Usually, the garage doors are located on the same line as the fence, at some distance from the house, so that the exhaust fumes and odors do not interfere with the occupants. The site for the construction of the garage should be as flat as possible, and the entrance to it - free, so that you can freely leave and turn around.

For the garage, the grade C or PS profiled sheeting is required, the letter "C" in the mark means "wall".Figures - the height of the corrugated wave in millimeters. Thus, corrugated board S-20 is a profiled sheet for the erection of wall structures with a wave height of 20 mm. Keep in mind, the higher the wave height, the greater the stiffness of the sheet and the structure as a whole, but the price of the material is higher. Profiled sheeting C-8 and C-10 is the cheapest, but its use will require more frequent fastening of sheets to the frame, which will reduce the integrity of the structure. In addition, thin sheets will "walk" under the influence of wind, producing a very peculiar sound, so in areas with strong winds it is better to take corrugated board with a higher wave height. The thickness of corrugated board usually varies from 0.4 to 1 mm, for the garage it is quite enough 0.5 mm thick.

In addition to the corrugated board you will need:

  • Concrete and reinforcement for the foundation;
  • Metal pipes, corner or wooden bars for the frame;
  • Metal corner or pipes for gates;
  • Self-tapping screws for metal.

  • Welding machine for wireframe welding;
  • Electric jigsaw and metal shears for cutting corrugated board;
  • Screwdriver.

Stages of the construction of the garage and the timing of their implementation.

  1. Foundation pouring. The concrete monolithic foundation in the form of a plate will serve simultaneously as the garage floor. It is possible to erect the foundation over the weekend, but for a full maturation of concrete, if it is poured, it will take at least 3 weeks.
  2. Construction of a frame. The frame is usually made of rolled metal: pipes, corner, channel. Racks, to which wall and ceiling ceilings will be fixed, are installed when erecting the foundation. The remaining structures of the frame are welded together with a welding machine. The deadline is one to two days.
  3. Fastening of corrugated board. Profiled metal sheets are cut using a jigsaw in size, and then fixed to the walls with metal screws with a rubber sealing gasket. You can cope with this work in one day by three or four people.
  4. Installation of the gate. The frame of the gate is made of a metal corner with the help of welding, after which they are lined with profiled sheeting. The time required to make the gate is one to two days.

  1. Mark the area under the garage and cut the soil from it to a depth of about half a meter. Perform a sandy filling, the sand is rammed and spilled with water.
  2. Carry out boreholes under the frame racks, they will additionally serve as foundation piles, which will improve its resistance to seasonal soil movements. Wells are of such size that the posts enter into them with some margin. Depth - from 0.5 meters.
  3. On the perimeter erect formwork of boards or wooden shields. Lay reinforcing bars with a diameter of 8-12 mm at a distance of 15-20 cm along and across the axis of the garage. The rods are connected with each other by wire using a hook. In prepared wells, frame racks are installed, having pre-treated their underground part with bituminous mastic. The racks are leveled vertically and strengthened by spacers.
  4. Fill formwork with concrete of grade 300, punch it with a metal rod to remove air bubbles. The surface is leveled by the rule.
  5. Leave the concrete to ripen for 3-4 weeks.

While the concrete is gaining strength, it is possible to build a garage frame. It is made of a metal corner, welding a corner to the posts, or wooden bars. To fix the bars use metal plates, which are attached to the posts by welding.

  1. Cut the material to the required length in accordance with the pre-prepared drawing.
  2. Welded to the racks of horizontal metal bars on three sides of the garage. If the frame is made of a bar, "ears" are welded to the posts to fix the wooden bars, after which the blocks are fixed with screws.
  3. The roof is usually made of a slab with a slope on the back wall of the garage. To perform its frame on opposite racks fix metal or wooden crossbeams, and on them - a crate from a non-planed board. In regions with significant snow load, the crate must be almost continuous, since a small angle of the roof slope will contribute to the accumulation of snow.
  4. The gate frame is made from a metal corner. Cut the corner to the size of the gate at an angle of 45 degrees, weld it, and then weld on the frame additional ribs - metal corners. Metal plates are welded to the place of installation of the lock or bolts.
  5. Weld to the front pillars of the hinge, apply the frame of the gate and mark the position of the response loops. If the gates are made non-removable, the hinges are placed counter-clockwise so that they can not be removed and welded in place.

It is possible to proceed to garage plating after full maturation of concrete - this excludes skeleton motions and deformation of profiled sheets. Strengthen the corrugated board vertically - this ensures the best flow of water. The sheets are lapped to one wave, this must be taken into account when calculating the material. It is more convenient to order a corrugated board, cut into sheets of the required size - this will reduce labor intensity and will increase their durability, since the cuts made at the factory will be covered with a zinc layer and polymer paint.

  1. Begin the casing from the garage walls. The first sheet is placed so that it's the bottom edge of the wave snugly to the stand - otherwise its sharp edges can be cut. Attach the sheet to the self-tapping screws with hexagon head and rubber gasket with a screwdriver. First fix the upper corner, then the sheet is leveled and fastened over its entire area, except for the junction with the next sheet.
  2. The next sheet is superimposed on the previous one with a single wave, holds both sheets together at several points and continues to hold it. So do the skin of all the walls. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that all vertical edges of the sheets in the corners fit snugly against the posts.
  3. The roof covering starts with fixing the gutter and laths. First fix on the lower edge of the roof hooks for drains and put them on the drain. Then the wind bars are fastened around the perimeter of the roof - a sheet of iron bent by the corner, designed to exclude rainfall under the roof. They are fastened to the crate for 2 temporary nails. On the lower edge of the roof, where the drain is installed, the wind bar must be fixed so that its lower edge descends into the drain bed.
  4. Sheets of corrugated sheet are mounted on the roof by waves parallel to the axis of the garage, so as to ensure a good flow of water. Above the side of the wind bar lay a sheet of corrugated sheet and level it along the edge of the roof, and then fix it and the wind bar with screws to the crate. Continue securing the sheets to the opposite end of the garage.
