Building site selection and its capabilities

It is also worthwhile to build a sauna on a surface that can easily absorb water, so a very good place for building is a house pond that will also save you from red tape with fire safety rules and provide sewage.

However, if such a construction is not possible, the option of creating a sauna in a separate room of the house is appropriate. This room should be perfectly dry and well ventilated. In the house for hot steam supply, it is possible to install only an electric furnace in order to avoid additional ways of ignition.

Types of saunas, their characteristics and photos

When choosing the type of sauna, it is necessary to take into account the permissible temperature regime and humidity level, and compare these indications with those in your conditions.

Finnish sauna - luxury of dry steam

The Finnish sauna uses the supply of dry hot steam from 120 to 140 ° C.Also, this steam room is characterized mainly by a low level of humidity - about 10%.

Today it is a popular kind for home use, as it has an obvious plus: low thermal conductivity and heat capacity of condensate positively influence the human body and increase the beneficial effect of steam.

Turkish sauna - a place for relaxation

In a Turkish bath, there is always a lot of humidity and temperatures often over 65 ° С.Moisture contributes to the production of a huge amount of steam. You can cool the air for a bath up to 30-40 ° C, which will allow people with intolerance to high temperatures to comfortably rest in this place. Often rest in a Turkish sauna involves a variety of spa treatments.

Russian bath - the classic of construction

Russian bath temperature does not exceed 70 ° С, humidity also has relatively small indicators. The principle of the sauna is the creation of steam by pouring water on the stones, heated by burning chopped logs in the oven. Requirements for the structure of this sauna is much higher than the previous one.

Tools and materials for construction

Do not try to save on the purchase of building materials for sauna, as the quality will be rewarded with a good service life.

Depending on the sauna selected above, you choose the materials:

  1. Brick, stone
  2. Cement, sand
  3. Wooden logs, blocks, boards
  4. Insulating glass units
  5. Pipes for sewerage and ventilation
  6. Roof covering materials
  7. Hydro and thermal insulation

How to build a sauna: step-by-step instruction

Step 1: create a floor

A floor made of wooden boards for a sauna is not the best solution, because they can not be varnished because of fumes. The most successful will be a tile covering, which is simply glued and easily operated.

Step 2: size the skeleton box of sauna

The level of the frame must consist of 5 layers. The first thing that should be done: draw chalk on the foil places of fixing the bars. So, there must be 3 lines. The first is located from the floor by 4 cm horizontally. The second is higher from the first at a distance of 65-70 cm, and the third - at a distance of one meter from the first line.

Then you need to draw a mark from the ceiling at 5 cm near the third band. Next, take the frame beams and nail them along the drawn lines. Use dowels and screws.

As for the ceiling, it is often created by their usual straight boards.

Step 3: install electrical wiring

In the sauna it is worthwhile to install a wiring that can meet all fire and electrical safety measures. Thermostable types of cable with a double layer of insulation are used.

Power consumption: 1-2 kW.However, if any other equipment is connected in the sauna, the power can be from 5 kW.

Lighting for the sauna should not be very bright, so there will be enough two lamps under the benches to make the sauna light soft and pleasant.

& lt; h3 & gt; Step 4: Insulate the sauna walls & lt; / h3 & gt;

For insulation of walls, it is possible to mount internal insulation in the frame cells. Next, waterproofing and vapor barrier are placed in the same place with foil and office tape. A thin metallic layer will create the effect of keeping heat.

Step 5: we trim and trim the sauna walls

The cladding is mounted on the beams of the frame, the straps are fixed at a distance of 40 cm. The transverse fastenings will be the basis for the installation of chairs and benches.

Afterwards the sauna is lined with wooden lining, and ventilation of the room is installed.

Step 6: equip and decorate sauna

Naturally, the key element in the sauna device is a stone oven. The use of steam depends on the stone from which it is made. The most successful are smooth grades that allow air to circulate freely.

Ventilation should be equipped with a latch above the heater at a distance of 40 cm.
