Do not choose too long self-tapping screws to install the cable duct yourself. To securely fix the box in the wall, it will be enough to screw fasteners with a length of about 40 mm. Method number 2 - Dowels-nails

If you need to fix the cable channel to a concrete or brick wall, which is a typical situation for an apartment and a house, there is nothing to do without dowel-nails, also called "quick installation".In addition, a perforator with a 6 mm drill is required for mounting. So, in order to fix the electrical cable box on the wall of concrete or brick independently, it is necessary to perform the following actions:

1. Pre-drill 6 mm holes in the bottom of the cable duct every 40-50 cm.
2. Attach the box to the wall according to the layout( about this later) and mark the drilling points that coincide with the prepared holes in the cable channel.
3. Drill holes according to marks on the wall.
4. Attach the plastic box and drive in the appropriate places of the dowel.
5. with a hammer to hammer nails.

Following such a simple instruction, you can mount the cable channel in the wall of concrete or brick. We draw your attention to one very important point - do not drill holes with a drill, leaning the box against the wall. Shock mode can cause cracking during drilling of plastic, which will be negatively reflected, both from the visual side and from the durability of the finished wiring.

Method number 3 - "Bugs"

If it became necessary to fix the cable channel in metal, less than 2 mm thick or an aluminum profile, we recommend you use self-tapping screws for metal, also called "bugs".There is nothing difficult to install an electrical box on a metal surface, the main thing is to choose good screws and load a screwdriver.

Well, the last way to fix the cable duct in an apartment or house is for a special glue liquid nails. The need to glue the cable duct to the wall arises in the event that another styling option is not possible. Most often liquid nails are used when installing an electrical box on a tile in the bathroom or a smooth metal surface. However, it is unlikely that it will be possible to fix the box with glue only well. Glutinous mixture is often used as an additional option of fixation. It can be combined with self-tapping screws or even quick mounting.

Installation Tips

4. The cable must be fixed exactly as in the vertical as in the horizontal plane. To attach the box horizontally smoothly, use the construction level. To align the route vertically, it is best to use a plumb line.

6. If you need to fasten a plastic electrical box on a plasterboard or wooden wall, do not drill holes in the surface beforehand. Self-tapping screws and without it well will go into the wall. As you understand, with concrete and brick, such an option for fixing the cable box will not pass.
7. If possible, start laying the cable duct from the corner, so that later it would be easier to join the sections and trim them if necessary.
8. There is no particular difference when you decide to install a cable box - before decorative wall finishing or after. We recommend to lay the product in the last place, becauseinstallation of the cable channel on the wallpaper is much easier to do, rather than pasting the wallpaper, pruning them because of the already conducted route.
9. If you decide to put plastic protection for the wire on the ceiling, do not forget to prepare the ceiling surface by analogy with the walls. The cable channel is fixed on the ceiling as well as on the walls.
