This post we are opening a new sub-section, which will be called "Before and After Repair", articles of which you can find in all the main headings of our site.
And we want to start with a story about how, with a minimum of funds and time, transform your bedroom, giving it a new and refined look.
Suppose that your bedroom is ready for decoration, and if that is required for its full transformation - minor cosmetic repairs, consisting in sealing gaps and updating the floor with a regular barking.
In order not to waste time on docking drawings and seams, we will glue the walls with wallpaper for painting. And immediately we will face the most important and difficult choice - what color to choose for them. After all, much depends on this - and the color of bed linen and bedspread for your bed, the color of curtains and bubbles, and even the color of small things that you arrange on your cosmetic table.
When choosing a color, you can afford any improvisation. We stopped at the pastel-lilac scale, as we know how harmonious it looks in any, both the largest and the smallest bedroom. As, however, almost all shades of blue, turquoise and blue.
After finishing the painting, let's pay attention to the furniture. Are there too many sharp corners around you? Do not press on you huge closets? And is not it time to throw this old chair?
Of course, replacing all furniture at once is quite problematic, and therefore we will not do this. We just replace a few minor elements. Let's say we change the chair to a brand new table. Or, leaving the chair, re-wrap it with the same cloth from which we sew coverlets for our bed, and which will be in harmony with our curtains. But about curtains a bit later.
In the meantime, let's see if there are too many empty, unused walls around you? If so, then let's buy a few different frames, and inserting photos, pictures or prints into them, decorate our empty walls with them. Beautiful, is not it? But you do not need to hang a mirror. Mirrors not only create visual "holes" in the wall, but also their reflection of furniture or windows can give the general appearance of your bedroom a completely unnecessary duality of repetition.
Now about curtains: we propose to decorate your window with curtains from four different fabrics. This will not only add brightness and multilayering to the overall color scheme, but will also add to the overall feeling of the bedroom an element of coziness and security. Soft fluffy curtains will lull us. And let them close almost the whole wall. Who knows, maybe we wanted them to remind us of the canopy?
And now about no less important - about the little things. Have you ever noticed how noble a combination of purple and gold looks? That's why we tried to ensure that in all the little things that we decorated the bedroom, there was as much yellow and gold as possible. And let the gold is not real, it will not have much significance. The main thing is the general impression of the bedroom, which by our common efforts with you has acquired a completely different, now complete look.
Oh yeah! We did not say about the chandelier! Of course, in the bedroom, the chandelier, as in other things, and the sconce, should be only glass, and if possible, it is completely transparent. After all, the glow of its dim lamps - it was the last finishing touch that we did not have.
