Why do I need to lubricate the puncher?

Modern perforators, depending on the class, can be used for drilling, drilling and chiselling, even in solid materials such as concrete. All these modes, except for increased noise, during work lead to the allocation of a large amount of dust, small stone crumbs, etc.

Such extreme conditions force you to often clean and lubricate the device. Usually two kinds of lubrication are recommended for work: lubricant for the perforator gearbox and for the tips of drills, drills and other replaceable working attachments. In this case, a more liquid oil is used to lubricate the reducer.

Most models in the manual for use indicate the timing and frequency of the oil change. Accordingly, there are special hatches and openings for pouring oil in the hammer casing, which are closed with hermetic lids or screws.

Lubricant for punch: how to choose?

As a rule, there are no problems with the choice of the type of oil for high-quality perforators of well-known manufacturers. The instructions indicate recommendations on how much oil to pour into the puncher, in what quantity. But what if there is no such data? It can be recommended to use oil for diesel engines.

By the way, in some Chinese punchers, the replacement of the factory oil, according to experts, led to an increase in the impact efficiency, a reduction in the heating of the reducer and even a decrease in noise in operation. For some models of punchers, both professional and amateur, the mode of operation is also important. The peculiarities of their design with prolonged use of the chiseling mode associated with increased vibration lead to a loss of lubricant supply to the working zones of mechanisms requiring lubrication.

Along with this, the instrument gets stronger. In order for the oil for the perforator to re-enter these zones, it is necessary to periodically( every 20 minutes) go into the drilling mode, thus ensuring not only the lubrication of rubbing parts, but also their cooling. Obviously, such regime changes will favorably affect the long working capacity of the puncher.

How to lubricate the puncher yourself?

Knowing how to lubricate the gearbox gearbox, however, it is important to do this with a certain periodicity. How often do I need to change the oil, what to do and how to determine the time of replacement? Experts recommend doing this with an eye on the instructions, but be guided by the practical side and primarily the intensity of the use of the tool, the magnitude of the workloads, and the conditions for carrying them out( dustiness as well).

Preventive replacement is recommended after changing the brushes of the motor. Although an experienced master of sound and increased rigidity of the instrument is able to determine the need for oil changes.

Before lubricating the puncher, you need to clarify whether the warranty period has expired. Because not all models have access to the crankcase of the gearbox in the form of a hatch or a hole. In this case, it may be necessary to disassemble the case. It is better to entrust it to the specialists of the service center. Moreover, if the instrument is still under warranty.

By self-lubricating the gear unit, you must first remove the old one. For this, the crankcase is flushed with kerosene, diesel fuel or liquid engine oil( "spindle").If you have to disassemble the body, the mechanism can be purged beforehand to remove accumulated dust and dirt. Remember that after blowing and rinsing the machines, you should lubricate everything that previously had a lubricant( for example, helical gearing), and that it did not have, in any case, do not lubricate( for example, the transfer clutch).

The approximate order of the action involves the preparation of lubricants. As the latter, it is recommended to use lubricants from the manufacturer of the perforator, despite their higher cost. Perhaps, in the absence of branded, the most versatile lubricant for drill perforator is a well-known lithol.

With respect to the tail of drills and other replaceable nozzles, experts unanimously recommend covering them with a small amount( not more than a pea) of a lubricant, for example, lithola or solidol. Do this every time before installing it into the chuck.

After removing the nozzle, the shank must be cleaned completely from the accumulated dust. By the way, the choice of grease, especially for shanks, should be done with caution, avoiding oils that can cause sticking due to nozzle heating and jamming of the impactor.
