Basic tasks and modes of the perforator

For the puncher, there are three modes:

  1. Drilling with impact. The original purpose of the device, allowing to work effectively for a long time.
  2. Simple drilling. Allows you to make holes for screws with the help of a drill.
  3. Demolition hammer. This mode is only for modern models of devices, since it works only with special nozzles.

The batteries from which the device is powered can be nickel-cadmium, lithium-ion and nickel-metal hydride. Fix to the body of the device, or outside of it, and through a small wire transmit energy. It turns out a kind of autonomy and mobility for the device.

Cordless perforators: types

The work is done by electromagnetic and pneumatic actions: on impact, the electromagnetic coils send a signal to the core, which imparts an impulse to the drill. And the pneumatic movement occurs due to the forward-return stroke about the piston of the cylinder.

More details on battery.

Cordless perforators are perforators that are powered by a battery. The best way is when there is no electricity for repairs.

The main parameters for selecting this device are:

  • engine power( optimal up to 800 W);
  • shock power;
  • Drill diameter;
  • impact efficiency;
  • speed of cartridge revolutions( the less the weight of the tool, the more revolutions it can make);
  • weight( minimum - 2 kg, and maximum - 12 kg);
  • number of strokes.

For carrying out construction works in the suburban area or in a building that is not connected to the network, the battery puncher will be very useful.

Advantages and disadvantages of the battery drill

Pros: independence from the network is the first and most important advantage. Basically, the batteries are equipped with a much less powerful tool, such as a conventional household drill or screwdriver, in the case of a puncher, the independence of the network is accompanied by high power and versatility of the device.

Cons: you need to take care of the remaining charge very carefully and constantly recharge. The time of uninterrupted, unhurried work is about three hours. I'll have to take a break for half an hour to charge the battery.

In addition to the disadvantages is the large weight of the device and strong noise, which does not happen when working with a stationary puncher. Electromechanical devices are the most noisy. When charging, the capacity of the battery increases, which affects the severity of the device, which causes frequent fatigue in the working master.

The amount of energy used is less than with a network connection. And how long the device will last depends on the capacity of the battery. Take extra battery with you. It will definitely help you with the discharge of the battery and will enable you not to interrupt the work on forced recharging.

Rechargeable and network punchers do not differ in any way. The accumulator also drills concrete, brick, ceramics, plasterboard and much more. To perform various operations with the tool, you can also select different attachments from the kit or purchase the necessary ones, as well as change the modes. A distinctive quality can only be the need for constant recharging.

For qualitative and wise use of the puncher, there are some rules that can save the tool from breakage, and provide health to the master builder.

Tips for working with a perforator

Let's outline the general, it is possible to say, mandatory rules for the operation of the device:

  1. When you plan to install a new nozzle, do not forget to press the shutdown button on the case, however stupid it may sound.
  2. After drilling a strong material( for example, hardened bricks), do not grasp the drill with your bare hands - it gets very hot. If replacement is needed urgently, remove it, wrapping the hand in several layers with rags. For rapid cooling, water can be used.
  3. Nozzles are screwed onto the root before being screwed with grease.
  4. You can tighten the nozzle directly by pulling the locking end back and scrolling the nozzle on the cartridge.
  5. Turn on the device and check how it hums and turns properly before use. With suspicious sounds and other malfunctions, the device immediately turns off and is inspected.
  6. With normal punch rotations and standard sounds, select the desired mode and the number of revolutions for operation.
  7. Once all the work with the device has been completed, use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust.

Protection for the master

Personal safety is paramount, therefore each worker must be equipped with:

  • safety glasses;
  • ear plugs;
  • with gloves;
  • suit of dense fabric( working overalls).

Important! Remove all kinds of jewelry that can get into the nozzle and get damaged. Long hair is put under the hat. And all available attachments can be used only according to the instructions that are on the box with the device.
