This is quite enough to accommodate a hand tool. The drawer has 3 drawers, as well as the upper hinged cover, which opens the volumetric compartment. This box allows you to protect instruments from dust, organize safe storage.

Required tools

The following tools are required for the manufacture of a wooden box:

  • circular saw;
  • milling machine;
  • grinder;
  • clamp;
  • hammer;
  • cutting pliers;
  • file;
  • wood hacksaw;
  • chisel.

Step-by-step instruction for the manufacture of a tool box

The optimum material for making a frame is oak wood. This is a beautiful, durable material that is strong and resistant to mechanical stress. It is better to take as a basis - glued plate thickness of 19 mm. This material has no knots and rotten inclusions. With the help of a circular cut a strip width of 38 mm.

To ensure that the individual elements do not move relative to each other when glued together, the carnations are slightly driven into the first part, the cap is removed with a pliers, and then a second plaque is stuffed onto the protruding pointed tip.

The boards are additionally coated with glue and fixed.

The glue which has acted on joints of details is removed by a chisel, only it is necessary to wait, that glue it is a little dried up.

The result should be a 38x38 mm piece. Her butt is polished.

The edge must be severely cut at an angle of 90 °, so cutting off the detail of the desired length, you should not forget about the angle of the cut.

This technique will help you to check the accuracy of the cutting angle.

The location of each part is marked so as not to get confused when assembling.

A groove is cut all the way along the entire length, it should go strictly in the center.

The grooves can be made either with a stationary circular saw or with a milling machine.

On the parts that are intended for the manufacture of vertical angular supports of the frame, make transverse markings.

In the rear corner pieces make another longitudinal groove. In the front corner support parts it is not needed.

For the subsequent fastening in the end part of the blanks, it is necessary to find the center, marking the intersection point of the diagonals.

Further in the marked point a hole is drilled, the diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the fastening dowel( 6 mm).

We must carefully check the compatibility of the blanks.

The blanks are processed with a file.

In a freely assembled frame marks are made to subsequently extend the grooves.

Grooves cut with a hacksaw on wood.

The chisel removes all unnecessary.

Then the wooden tool box is made in parts. First - the side walls, then - the whole structure, then - drawers, at the end - the lid. The side walls are made of birch plywood.

These blanks are needed for drawers. The corner is cut from the end part.

Each workpiece is drilled for bolting.

Observing the accuracy, it is necessary to drill the prepared parts.

On the part intended for attachment and separation of 2 drawers, cutouts are made at an angle of 90 °.

Having installed the parts for the movement of the boxes into place and fixing them, they gradually begin to screw them.

The corners of the plywood blanks are cut, as in the photo.

The walls of the lower boxes are attached to the plywood sheets with the help of self-tapping screws.

To one side side, prepare prepared horizontal parts from plywood. First it is done without the use of glue.

During clamping with clamps, it is necessary to check the diagonality to match the dimensions.

Drawers are made of plywood.

The grooves can be cut either on a stationary saw or with a cutter.

Next, you need a forster drill to make holes.

The drawer parts are fastened with glue.

The side parts of the drawers must have grooves for movement along the inside straps.

For strength, the side parts are fastened with dowels, which are cut flush.

For bonding reliability, small studs are partially driven into the surface of the front wall of drawers, their hats are removed.

Attaching the front panels to the drawers, they look, whether the individual elements are evenly located.

At gluing it is necessary to observe extreme accuracy, there should not be any gaps.

At the end make the top frame of the plywood box.

To make an accurate cut at an angle of 45 °, it is advisable to use a special tool.

The workpieces for the frame are connected and fixed by gluing using a tensioning belt.

In the cover you need to make a groove.

When fastening the plywood and frame, the parts are clamped and drilled with a thin drill.

A circular file forms the end portion of the rotational member to hold the lid in the raised position.

The retaining part is fixed with a thin clove. Its diameter should be smaller than the hole, so that the handle moves easily.

In the frame make a groove.

The groove must not reach the corner part.

The upper frame is attached to the dowel.

The milling in the frame and cover must match.

The cover is attached with a hinge.

After final assembly, everything is fixed to ensure a high quality connection.

At the end, the tool box is ground and treated with wood impregnation.
