Photo wallpapers have been included in the list of materials that have been used for repairs for a long time.
During this time they have improved and have not lost their relevance.
It is photo wallpapers that will make it possible to make the interior unique. The owners of the premises may not completely change the old wallpaper, but only paste the photographic in a certain part of the room.

Kinds of materials
Depending on the density of the basis of wallpaper, they can be divided into 4 categories:
- Density from 90 to 120 g / m2( paper wallpaper).Very thin base, comparable to the old Soviet wallpaper. It requires a careful attitude when unfolding and smoothing, easily form folds and easily tear. You can paste paper wallpapers with your own hands and on PVA glue;
- Medium density base - 150 - 250 g / m2 - vinyl. On such wallpaper, embossing can already be applied. Their gluing is carried out with special glue;
- High density - 300-400 g / m 2 - most often non-woven;
- Super density - over 400 g / m 2 - fabric wallpaper. Usually sold together with glue, they are not recommended to glue their own hands without experience.
Wall-papers are usually issued on a paper or non-woven medium-dense basis.
A small canvas on a paper substrate is really possible to paste, but if you want to get a large picture on the wall, it is better to purchase non-woven material.
Now it's left to choose the right glue. For heavy wallpaper( where they include vinyl and non-woven) it is worth buying KLEO or Quelyd products, drawing attention to the appropriate type of wallpaper.
For light and thin wallpaper, you can use any adhesive suitable for a paper substrate. Most often the manufacturer in the attached instructions recommends one or another type of glue.

Sticky technology
First prepare the surface - you need to remove the old wallpaper. The dried out coating is often removed without the use of additional funds.
If it holds tight, then soak the old wallpaper with water and leave for half an hour. Try, if they are cleaned with a spatula, if not, moisten the paper wallpaper again.
When the old wallpaper is removed from the walls, take a closer look at the cracks on the plaster.
If they are available, proceed as follows: knock down old, easily lagging plaster layers, stretch the plaster mesh and plaster it in black.
This is the only way we can protect new wallpaper from ruptures in places of cracks. If there are no cracks, then we do not need a plaster grid, but we still have to apply the plastering.
If the wall is relatively flat or there are little old wallpapers on it, then you can get by using a clean plaster. It is quite enough 2-3 mm layer, applied to the prepared surface.
If the differences in the wall level are more than 3 mm, then you can not do without rough plastering. When the coating is completely dry, it should be sanded.
Wall-papers underline any roughness, on them even fine-fraction dust will be appreciable. Our task is to trowel a perfectly flat surface and then blow off dust from it.
No further surface preparation is required unless otherwise specified in the wallpaper instructions.
As a result of the preparatory work, you should have a perfectly smooth wall in front of you without any color spots, and we can proceed with the gluing. Consider how to properly glue wallpapers.

Mark the horizontal line, along which we will equalize the upper edge of the blade. If you do not glue the canvas from the ceiling, then, perhaps, the line will have to spend some time.
Apply it with a pencil or marker and check the level. Mark the vertical contour. If the wallpaper consists of several parts, then make outlines for each.
Move away as far as possible and see if there is a feeling that the vertical lines are not parallel to the walls? If visually everything looks smooth, then you can start to glue yourself.
Much worse if you understand that the drawn rectangle emphasizes the absence of right angles between the ceiling and the walls.
In this situation, you have to glue with a slight bias, as if stealing the slope of the corners.
Near the resulting picture, it is undesirable to put massive furniture( it will emphasize the bevel), and the level of photo wallpapers should be lowered below the surface of the coffee table.
To visually enlarge a small room, step back from the ceiling to the top of the wallpaper 5-10 cm, it is acceptable to leave the old wallpaper.
When the contour is marked, you can proceed to the practical part and start gluing.
We make glue - in a container with clean water of the recommended temperature, slowly pour the glue and stir at the same time.

With a wide brush, apply glue to the back of the first sheet of wallpaper, carefully lubricating the edges.
Combine with the upper left corner, selected for photo wallpapers, and, gradually smoothing, glue the sheet to the wall. Try not to rub wallpaper.
Our task is to gently combine the coating and the wall, squeezing out the remnants of the glue. If the adhesive has leaked out from under the edge of the wallpaper, then immediately remove it with a rag. Similarly, glue and the next sheet.
How to glue wallpapers to the wall - butt or overlap - is usually indicated by the manufacturer in the instructions.
Lightweight paper, mainly glued, overlapping each other. Vinyl or non-woven should be glued only butt.
It can be seen in the video that the bubbles formed during the gluing of photo wallpapers can easily be removed by piercing them with a needle. When all the sheets are pasted, make sure that the edges are snug.
If necessary - bend the edge, apply a drop of glue and glue it again. Walk through all the sheets, squeezing out excess glue from the center to the edges. Now you need to let the photo wallpaper dry.
During the day, do not allow open windows - the wallpaper must dry naturally, the bond between the sheet and the wall should be able to harden.

Choosing of wallpapers
The most difficult is not so much a question as how to glue, how much the moment of a choice of photo wallpapers. It is necessary to take into account a number of details, such as the size of the photo-block, its combination with the existing furniture and space.
Do not rush to glue the first ones you liked, watch videos of various interiors.
A few simple tips can help you navigate:
- Choose the size. Too much canvas is closed furniture, if the room itself is small. It is important to choose the optimal size, it can be slightly larger than the free space between the furniture. Successfully look great wallpapers, located above the sofa in the living room. In a small room, it makes sense to avoid photo wallpapers with a large image, a disproportionate room. In the nursery and the bedroom, you can select almost the entire wall to accommodate photo wallpapers;
- Choose the type. For the living room it is important to equip the design, and there are no special requirements for the type of material. You can glue non-woven, they will look great. The main criterion for choosing photo wallpapers for a children's room is the possibility to make a wet cleaning, because a young child can easily blot them during the game. Better in the children's room to paste wallpaper that you can wash;
- Choose the color. In a brightly lit room, bright wallpapers and images of neutral illumination are perfect, but dark ones should be avoided. If the room is sufficiently illuminated by the sun's rays, but not too bright, then you can paste wallpapers of any color - from very bright and light to dark, depending on the interior. When watching video presentations of different design options, take a closer look at the combination between the interior of the room and the color of the wallpaper. In the dark, neutral tones will look best, too light will attract the eye, and excessively dark will increase the gloom in the room.
