When you mention the word "cabinet" in memory, the age-old English castles, an aristocrat in a velvet dressing gown, luxurious stuffed animals, family weapons and floor-to-ceiling bookcases come to mind. An integral part of this luxury was the fireplace.

The typical interior of the cabinet of the Soviet functionary from the representations of past centuries differed not significantly. For all options, the main thing is the availability of sufficient lighting, the availability of a large number of sockets with ground( for office equipment) and a comfortable chair, which will have to spend several hours without getting up.
