What do we see if the acrylic paints are dried?

Acrylic paint contains three components: pigment, binder and water. Copolymers or acrylates are used as a binder. The paint dries very quickly and after drying it forms a resilient, plastically resistant coating, has good coating properties and excellent color brilliance. Acrylic colors, unlike watercolors, do not burn out in the sun and do not fade with time like oil.

During the evaporation of water, the acrylic paint dries, after which it forms an elastic film of pigment and binder. Dried acrylic is very strong, it is not brittle and does not form cracks, the painted surface does not break. At the end of the time, acrylic does not wrinkle, it is resistant to changes in humidity and temperature changes. Its lightfastness has been tested for more than fifty years of existence.

When applied with a thin layer, the paint dries almost instantly, the thicker layers dry more slowly - up to several minutes. After they have dried up, acrylic water colors are not removed and do not respond very well to scraping or sandpaper processing.

Drying time of acrylic paint and other characteristics of

Its performance characteristics are excellent. The paint can be applied to metal and concrete surfaces, to plaster. Acrylic paints are characterized by low gas permeability, and for this reason they reliably protect the painted surface from corrosion.

But for the same reason on the plastered surface they can be applied not earlier than a month after the end of the work - the plaster for hardening requires carbon dioxide.

Acrylic paints give a huge range of saturated and bright colors that do not burn out in the sun and do not fade with time. These paints have a good vapor permeability, so that the surface painted by it can "breathe" without missing any moisture.

Due to weathering resistance, acrylic paint is equally well suited for both indoor and outdoor applications. It is fireproof, frost-resistant and does not tend to accumulate dirt. It can be painted almost any surface: from cardboard and canvas in the artist's workshop to the brick and concrete on the construction site.

How long does an acrylic paint dry - how can I affect the time?

When using these paints in the construction sector, they often add latex - a substance that strengthens the already good water repellent properties of the paint. The surface, painted with such a composition, can withstand up to five thousand washing cycles.

The drying time of the acrylic paint depends on the environment. At high temperature and low humidity, the process proceeds much faster than and can be used to accelerate it. Promotes faster drying and good ventilation.

But, speaking of acrylic, it should be noted that the properties characteristic for all types of paints differ slightly depending on its types. For example, Humbrol , when applied with a brush, loses most types of synthetic paints. But it should be borne in mind that this is the earliest type of this type of acrylic. The paint Helle , which appeared after the Humbrol , these properties have already significantly improved. Well, the types that appeared even later are completely free from such shortcomings.
